What you bring
3-5 years in product management, at least part of it in a technically demanding, multi-team workplace where you owned an outcome that crossed several disciplines.
You have seen this world - camera systems, computer vision, robotics, AR/VR, sensors, or AI training data enough that hardware, ML, and pipeline conversations are familiar ground, not a foreign language.
Systems thinking: you can hold a complex, multi-stage pipeline in your head, visualise how it fits together, and reliably find where it will break.
Nice to have
Direct exposure to egocentric or robotics datasets, multi-camera calibration, hand tracking, or pose/SLAM model evaluation.
Familiarity with formats and tooling in this space (MCAP / protobuf, ROS, Foxglove, modern video codecs).
Prior delivery to a large AI lab or frontier-model data client against a formal requirements spec.
(Genuine depth in any one of hardware, ML, or infra is a bonus - it helps you lead that team - but it is not a requirement. Breadth,
judgment, and end-to-end ownership are.)
What success looks like
First 30 - 90 days: you can whiteboard the entire pipeline from rig to accepted delivery from memory, you know each teams constraints, and youve identified the two or three seams where quality, throughput, or cost actually break.
By month six: You own spec-to-delivery for multiple clients, the handoffs between teams are explicit and monitored, the QA and diversity gates are enforced, and the pipeline scales predictably from sample to volume without you personally firefighting every stage.
