Company Description Chowgule Lavgan Shiprepair Pvt Ltd operates an ultra-contemporary shipyard on the west coast of India, approximately 70 nautical miles from Bombay High. The company is part of the Chowgule Group, a 100-year-old enterprise with a strong presence in commercial ship repair, defense ship repairs for the Indian Coast Guard and Indian Navy, rig repairs, and EPC construction projects. The shipyard provides specialized services such as dry docking, refit, conversion, fabrication, and load-out for a wide range of vessels and offshore assets.

Team members work in a technologically advanced environment that supports complex marine engineering and repair projects and offers exposure to both commercial and defense sectors.

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Procurement professional role based at the shipyard in Ratnagiri. The Procurement professional will manage end-to-end procurement activities for ship repair projects, including sourcing materials, equipment, and services required for dry docking, refit, conversion, fabrication, and related operations. Daily responsibilities include preparing and processing purchase orders, obtaining and evaluating vendor quotations, coordinating with internal project, engineering, and operations teams to understand technical requirements, and ensuring timely availability of items at the shipyard.

The role involves monitoring supplier performance, maintaining accurate procurement records, supporting contract negotiations,



and optimizing costs while maintaining quality and compliance standards. The Procurement professional will also collaborate closely with the finance and warehouse teams to align procurement schedules, budgets, and inventory levels with project timelines.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong Procurement skills, including experience managing end-to-end purchasing processes in an industrial or marine environment.
- Candidates should possess skills in Purchase Orders and Supplier Evaluation, with the ability to handle documentation, compare quotations, and assess vendor capabilities.
- Candidates should possess skills in Contract Negotiation, with experience securing favorable terms while maintaining long-term supplier relationships.
- Candidates should possess solid Analytical Skills, with the ability to interpret data, track costs, and support decision-making for ship repair projects.
- Relevant experience in ship repair, shipbuilding, offshore, heavy engineering, or related industries is highly beneficial.
- Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work closely with cross-functional technical and operations teams.
- Proficiency in procurement software or ERP systems, and familiarity with standard commercial and contractual terms.
- Diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management, Mechanical/Marine Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
