Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Process Plant Head to lead and manage operations of a grain based ethanol manufacturing plant. The role involves overseeing end-to-end plant operations, process optimization, production efficiency, safety compliance, and team management. The ideal candidate should have strong technical expertise in ethanol production, leadership capability, and hands-on experience in large-scale plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Plant Operations & Production i. Manage day-to-day operations of the grain-based ethanol process plant.

ii. Ensure achievement of production targets with optimal yield and efficiency.

iii. Monitor fermentation, distillation, dehydration, by-product processes, and power plant operations.

iv. Implement process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce losses.

2. Process & Technical Management i. Oversee process parameters, SOPs, and operational controls.

ii. Troubleshoot process-related issues and ensure minimal downtime.

iii. Coordinate with engineering and maintenance teams for smooth plant functioning.

iv. Drive process optimization and continuous improvement initiatives across plant operations.

3. Quality, Safety & Compliance i. Ensure compliance with statutory, environmental, and safety regulations.

ii. Implement and monitor safety standards, audits, and best practices.

iii. Maintain product quality as per regulatory and customer requirements.

Ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented within defined timelines.

4. Team Leadership & Coordination i. Lead plant operations team including engineers, supervisors, and operators.

ii. Plan manpower deployment, training, and performance monitoring.

iii. Coordinate with procurement, QA, maintenance, and management teams.

5. Reporting & Cost Control i. Prepare daily, monthly production and performance reports.

ii. Monitor raw material consumption, utilities, and operating costs.

iii. Support management in budgeting, planning, and operational reviews.

Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree in Chemical / Mechanical / Production Engineering (Master’s preferred).

· 10–15 years of experience in grain-based ethanol or distillery plant operations.

· Strong knowledge of ethanol production processes and plant equipment.

· Proven experience in handling large-scale manufacturing operations.

· Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

· Good understanding of safety, environmental, and statutory compliance.

· Working knowledge of ERP/MIS systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, for production and management reporting.
