1. Job Summary The OT Technician cum OPD Nurse will be responsible for providing nursing and technical support in the OPD, procedure room and OT, ensuring proper patient preparation, assistance during procedures, infection-control practices, equipment readiness, documentation and smooth coordination with doctors and the nursing team.

The role requires the ability to work efficiently across OPD, procedure room and OT, depending on daily clinical requirements.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. OT & Procedure Room Responsibilities

- Prepare and set up the OT for scheduled procedures (oocyte retrieval, embryo transfer, hysteroscopy, laparoscopy)
- Ensure sterilization of instruments and maintenance of asepsis protocols at all times
- Assist the embryologist and consultant during procedures, handing instruments and materials as required
- Maintain and calibrate OT equipment (anesthesia machines, monitors, suction units, autoclaves)
- Manage inventory of surgical consumables, disposables, and OT supplies; raise indents as needed
- Maintain accurate OT records, consumption logs, and equipment maintenance registers
- Coordinate with nursing and lab teams for smooth patient flow before and after procedures
- Follow infection control, biomedical waste management, and safety protocols per clinic and regulatory standards
- Support scheduling and turnaround of the OT between cases to minimize patient wait time

B. OPD Nursing Responsibilities · Manage OPD patient flow: vitals, history intake, and preparation for consultations

· Assist consultants during OPD procedures (scans, minor procedures, follicular studies)

· Administer injections, medications, and follow-up care as prescribed

· Counsel and guide patients on treatment protocols, medication schedules, and appointments

· Coordinate with the lab, OT, and pharmacy teams to ensure timely patient care

· Maintain accurate patient records, treatment charts, and consent documentation

· Handle emergency situations and basic first aid within OPD as required

· Ensure OPD hygiene, equipment readiness, and stock of consumables and medicines

· Support patients with empathy and confidentiality, given the sensitive nature of fertility treatment

- Ensure patient comfort, privacy and dignity at all times.

C. Fertility/IVF Centre Support





- Assist the clinical team in patient preparation for fertility-related procedures.
- Support doctors and nurses during procedures such as OPU, embryo transfer, IUI and other procedures as assigned and within the scope of training.
- Ensure procedure-specific consumables are available before the procedure.
- Coordinate with the laboratory/embryology team whenever required.
- Follow patient identification and procedure-verification protocols strictly.
- Ensure required consent forms and documentation are completed before procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality of all patient information.

D. Infection Control & Safety

- Strictly follow hand hygiene and PPE protocols.
- Maintain aseptic technique during all procedures.
- Follow infection-control policies and standard precautions.
- Ensure proper segregation and disposal of biomedical waste.
- Report any infection-control concerns, equipment issues or safety incidents immediately.
- Participate in infection-control training and audits.

E. Inventory & Equipment

- Check stock of OT and OPD consumables regularly.
- Inform the Nursing Head/concerned person about low-stock or expired items.
- Ensure proper storage of medicines, consumables and sterile items.
- Maintain basic records of OT consumables and procedure-related items.
- Handle medical equipment responsibly and report malfunction immediately.

F. Documentation & Coordination

- Maintain accurate nursing and OT records.
- Complete procedure checklists and relevant registers.
- Ensure all required documentation is completed after procedures.
- Coordinate effectively with doctors, embryologists, nursing staff, front desk, MRD and other departments.
- Maintain qualified communication with patients and attendants.
- Participate in departmental meetings, training and quality-improvement activities.

3. Qualification

- B.Sc. Nursing or relevant recognised qualification.




- OT Technician qualification/certification will be an added advantage.
- Valid registration with the relevant nursing council, wherever applicable.
- Laproscopy experience is desirable

4. Experience

- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Experience in OT, fertility/IVF, day-care procedures, hospital or multispecialty setup will be an advantage.
- Candidates with both OT and OPD nursing experience will be preferred.
- Laproscopy experience will be an added advantage

5. Skills & Competencies

- Good clinical and nursing skills.
- Knowledge of OT procedures and sterile techniques.
- Good understanding of infection-control practices.
- Ability to assist doctors efficiently during procedures.
- Good patient-handling and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Good documentation and record-keeping skills.
- Team-oriented and responsible approach.
- Willingness to work according to the centre's roster and clinical requirements.

6. Key Performance Expectations

- OT/procedure room readiness before every scheduled procedure.
- Adherence to infection-control and patient-safety protocols.
- Accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Proper handling and maintenance of instruments and equipment.
- Timely identification and reporting of stock shortages.
- Professional patient care and communication.
- Effective coordination with doctors and other clinical departments.
- Zero tolerance for avoidable lapses in patient identification, consent verification and procedure safety.

7. Working Conditions The employee may be required to work across OPD, procedure room and OT based on the center's operational requirements and daily procedure schedule. Note: All clinical duties shall be performed strictly within the employee's qualification, training, registration and permitted scope of practice, and as per Aspire Fertility Center's SOPs and clinical protocols.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
