Role Overview

This is the founding Head of Engineering for a US-founded stealth startup building an AI productivity platform for architecture and engineering teams on Autodesk Revit. The product indexes a firm's past projects, builds a searchable detail library, and automatically generates drawings, annotations, and construction details to the firm's own drafting standards — cutting the manual time spent in construction documentation.

You will build the India engineering organisation from Chennai or Bangalore, work with a US founding team, and stay hands-on: this is a build-and-lead role, not a process Head of Engineering.

Experience required: 4–10 years.

Compensation: ₹60–80 LPA plus meaningful ESOP.

What You'll Work On

- AI-native Revit agentic pipelines that turn an empty Revit callout into a completed construction detail — matching wall layers, placing components, annotating — with the architect still reviewing and approving
- The unsolved drafting problem the company is betting on: auto-adapting a firm's existing Revit details to live project conditions (wall type, materials, insulation, dimensions) inside Autodesk Revit, instead of redrawing details that already exist in the firm library
- Intelligent Detail Library — search and reuse across a firm's Revit archive — plus the Detailing Assistant, shipped end to end
- Backend and agentic-AI systems with US AEC customer data kept private, permissioned, and never used to train external models
- Hiring and leading a 3–4 person engineering team in Chennai / Bangalore while working with a US founding team (operator + licensed architect) and existing US customers

Who Is Right for This Role
- 4–10 years of experience,



including time leading a small engineering team (3–4 engineers) end to end
- Has taken a product from zero to live production used by real customers — not only prototypes, demos, or research — and can point to what they personally built
- Has built backend / AI systems with agentic pipelines: multi-step agents that plan, call tools, and complete a real workflow — not chat wrappers or copilot overlays on someone else's product
- Specialised AI & ML engineer — ML experience is mandatory
- Uses coding agents extensively in their own work
- Has operated where the output had to be correct enough for professionals to trust before it ships
- Hands-on founding engineering leader: still writes and ships backend / AI systems, and is excited by an unsolved, high-complexity problem
- Willing to work full time onsite in Chennai or Bangalore (relocation is required; this is not a remote role)

Who Isn't a Fit
- Has not taken something from zero to a live product used by real customers
- No experience building agentic pipelines — only prompt-to-text copilots, wrappers, or generic LLM features
- A pure people-manager / process Head of Engineering who is no longer willing or able to write and ship backend / AI systems
- Under 4 years of experience
- Cannot work from Chennai or Bangalore, or is not willing to relocate full-time

How You'll Work
- Hands-on individual contributor who also leads the 3–4 person engineering team
- Writes and reviews code personally; leads technical discussions and architecture decisions
- High ownership and reliability; agile and comfortable with early-stage pivots
- Works with a US-based founding team and existing US customers from India
