– General Manager A General Manager in Transport is responsible for overseeing the transport department's operations, ensuring the efficient and cost-effective management of vehicle fleets, and coordinating with drivers and maintenance teams. They also ensure compliance with safety and industry regulations, handle logistics planning, and implement transport strategies.

The General

Manager (GM) oversees the entire transport and logistics network. They direct staff, control finances, and optimize supply chain performance.

Key Responsibilities

- Operations & Fleet Management: Direct daily dispatch, routing, and scheduling. Oversee vehicle maintenance, repairs, and safety compliance.
- Financial Oversight: Manage the department budget, track operating costs (fuel, maintenance, labour), and find ways to increase profits.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all operations meet local, national, and safety regulations (such as driver hours and weight limits).
- Team Leadership: Train, and supervise drivers, mechanics, and office staff. Build a protected and productive workplace culture.
- Strategic Planning: Create long-term company goals,



negotiate contracts with vendors and clients, and adopt new transport technologies.
- Planning: Develop and implement transport strategies, policies, and procedures.
- Safety: Promote a culture of safety and ensure all drivers adhere to safety protocols.
- Logistics: Manage the logistics of vehicle routes and schedules.
- Vendor Management: Negotiate contracts with fuel suppliers, vehicle manufacturers, and insurance companies.

Requirements and Qualifications

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Experience: 10 to 12 years of leadership experience in transportation, fleet management, or logistics.
- Skills: Strong leadership, budgeting, problem-solving, and knowledge of Transportation Management Systems (TMS).

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹80,000.00 per month
