The opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Flowable Developer with 5–8 years of industry experience to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to build enterprise-grade workflow and decision automation capabilities, optimize end-to-end processes, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on high-impact transformation programmers.
Your key responsibilities
- Design, develop, configure, and deploy business processes and workflow solutions using Flowable BPMN, DMN, forms, and related platform capabilities.
- Gather and analyse business requirements and translate them into scalable process models, decision rules, user tasks, service tasks, and workflow components.
- Develop Java and Spring Boot services that embed or interact with Flowable engines.
- Integrate workflows with enterprise applications, databases, messaging platforms, and microservices through REST APIs and asynchronous integration patterns.
- Implement exception handling, retries, timers, escalations, auditability, and operational controls for resilient workflow execution.
- Optimize process performance, troubleshoot complex workflow issues, and perform root-cause analysis across application, engine, integration, and database layers.
- Create unit, integration, and process-level tests and support automated build, deployment, and release pipelines.
- Participate in solution design, code reviews, technical documentation, estimation, sprint planning, and Agile delivery ceremonies.
- Collaborate with business analysts, architects, product owners, developers, QA engineers, and DevOps teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Support production deployments, monitoring,
incident resolution, and continuous improvement of workflow services.

To qualify for the role, you must have
- BTech, BE, MTech, MCA, or an equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- 5–8 years of software development experience, including substantial hands-on experience implementing BPM and workflow solutions using Flowable.
- Strong knowledge of BPMN 2.0, DMN, process orchestration, human tasks, service tasks, gateways, event handling, timers, and process versioning.
- Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, RESTful services, microservices, JSON, and XML.
- Experience with Flowable Java APIs,
REST APIs, process deployment, runtime management, task management, history, identity, and engine configuration.
- Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL, or Microsoft SQL Server, including data modelling and SQL performance analysis.
- Experience with Maven or Gradle, Git, JUnit, Mockito, API testing tools, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Understanding of application security, authentication, authorization, role-based access, logging, monitoring, and audit requirements.
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Exposure to Flowable CMMN, Form, Content, IDM, Event Registry, or enterprise platform capabilities.
- Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, JMS, or other event-driven and messaging technologies.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
- Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk, ELK, Dynatrace, or Prometheus.
- Experience in financial services, regulated environments, or large-scale digital transformation programmes.
- Working knowledge of Agile, Scrum, SAFe, DevOps, and release-management practices.
