1. Role Purpose
We are looking for a Finance Head – Tamil Nadu to take ownership of the finance, credit control, collections, working capital, MIS, and financial control functions for our Tamil Nadu operations.
This is a business-facing finance leadership role, not limited to accounting and compliance.
The Finance Head will work closely with Sales, Operations, and Senior Management to ensure that business growth is supported by healthy margins, robust collections, disciplined credit, optimum inventory, and positive cash flow.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Finance & Business Planning
- Manage the complete finance function for Tamil Nadu.
- Prepare annual budgets, forecasts and financial plans.
- Track Revenue, Gross Margin, EBITDA and profitability.
- Provide management with financial analysis and actionable recommendations.
- Analyse profitability by product, customer, channel, territory and business unit.
- Support management in evaluating new business opportunities and expansion plans.
B. Credit Control – KEY RESPONSIBILITY The Finance Head will have direct ownership of the Credit Control function.
- Establish and enforce customer credit limits.
- Conduct credit assessment of dealers, retailers, and channel partners.
- Monitor customer outstanding and credit utilization.
- Ensure adherence to approved credit terms.
- Closely monitor overdue receivables.
- Establish aging-based collection plans.
- Coordinate with sales teams for timely collections.
- Escalate high-risk and overdue accounts to management.
- Recommend credit holds where required.
- Prevent unauthorized extension of credit.
- Review customer exposure before approving additional business.
- Develop a strong sales and finance credit-control discipline.
- Monitor bad-debt risk and recommend appropriate provisions.
- Prepare daily/weekly Credit & Collection MIS.
The objective is to ensure that sales growth does not compromise cash flow or create excessive credit risk.
C. Receivables & Collections
- Take ownership of Tamil Nadu receivables.
- Monitor daily collections against targets.
- Track customer-wise aging.
- Establish collection targets for the finance/collection team.
- Work closely with sales managers and business development teams to recover overdue amounts.
- Conduct regular review meetings for major outstanding accounts.
- Reduce DSO and overdue receivables.
- Ensure timely reconciliation of customer accounts.
- Resolve billing, credit-note, and payment-related disputes quickly.
D. Working Capital & Cash Flow
- Manage the Tamil Nadu working-capital cycle.
- Monitor:
- Debtor Days
- Inventory Days
- Creditor Days
- Cash Conversion Cycle
- Prepare rolling cash-flow forecasts.
- Optimize cash utilization.
- Ensure adequate liquidity for business operations.
- Identify opportunities to reduce working-capital requirements.
E. Banking & Finance
- Manage relationships with banks and financial institutions.
- Coordinate working-capital facilities and banking requirements.
- Support channel-finance initiatives.
- Manage bank guarantees, LC, and other banking requirements where applicable.
- Negotiate banking terms and charges.
- Maintain strong relationships with banking partners.
- Support management in arranging additional funding as the business grows.
F. MIS & Management Reporting
Develop a strong and timely financial MIS system covering:
- Daily Sales
- Daily Collections
- Customer Outstanding
- Ageing Analysis
- Credit Limit Utilization
- Inventory
- Gross Margin
- Expenses
- Cash Position
- Working Capital
- Budget vs. Actual
- Business/Channel Profitability
The finance head must be able to convert financial data into business decisions, rather than simply produce reports.
G. Inventory & Commercial Finance
- Monitor inventory levels and aging.
- Identify slow-moving and non-moving inventory.
- Work with Operations and Sales teams to improve inventory turnover.
- Monitor stock-related financial exposure.
- Analyze margins after discounts, schemes, and incentives.
- Identify margin leakage.
- Review commercial proposals from a financial perspective.
H. Accounting, GST & Compliance
- Ensure accurate accounting and timely monthly closing.
- Ensure compliance with:
- GST
- TDS
- Income Tax
- Statutory requirements
- Internal policies
- Coordinate with statutory auditors, tax consultants, and internal auditors.
- Ensure timely completion of audits.
- Maintain appropriate financial documentation and controls.
I. Internal Controls & Risk Management
- Establish strong financial controls across Tamil Nadu.
- Ensure adherence to approval limits and financial policies.
- Prevent unauthorized credit, discounts, and commercial leakage.
- Identify financial and operational risks.
- Conduct periodic review of customer exposure.
- Strengthen controls over cash, inventory, receivables, and payments.
- Investigate financial irregularities when required.
J. Team Management
- Lead and develop the Tamil Nadu Finance & Credit Control team.
- Define individual responsibilities and KPIs.
- Establish collection and credit-control targets.
- Conduct regular performance reviews.
- Build a culture of accountability and financial discipline.
- Coordinate closely with the central/group finance team.

4. Candidate Profile / Experience
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Finance / Accounts / Credit Control.
- Experience in distribution, retail,
consumer electronics, FMCG, telecom or other high-volume businesses is preferred.
- Candidates with solid hands-on experience in credit control and receivables management will be given preference.
- Experience managing a multi-location or high-volume customer base is an advantage.
Education
Preferred:
- CA / CMA / MBA Finance / M.Com / B.Com
- Strong candidates without professional qualifications may also be considered based on relevant experience and capability.

8. First 90-Day Expectations
Within the first 90 days, the Finance Head should:
- Complete a review of all Tamil Nadu receivables.
- Categorize customers by credit risk.
- Establish customer-wise credit limits.
- Identify all overdue and high-risk accounts.
- Introduce a structured Credit & Collection MIS.
- Establish weekly Sales + Finance collection reviews.
- Review inventory ageing and working capital.
- Establish a reliable daily cash position.
- Review existing banking arrangements.
- Identify immediate opportunities to improve cash flow and reduce financial leakage.
9. CompensationFixed Compensation
₹12,00,000 per annum
Performance-Linked Variable
Up to ₹3,00,000 per annum

10. Positioning of the Role
This position is expected to function as:
Finance + Credit Control + Working Capital + Business Finance The successful candidate should understand that sales growth without collection discipline is not healthy growth.
The Finance Head will therefore be a critical business partner to the Tamil Nadu leadership team, ensuring that Alps achieves profitable growth with strong cash generation and financial discipline.
Pay: ₹900,000.00 - ₹1,200,000.00 per year
