Key Roles & Responsibilities

- Support FEA projects using ANSYS Workbench (Mechanical) and Design Modeler / SpaceClaim as per customer requirements.

- Interface with customers, maintain regular project communication, build strong relationships, and deliver customer-centric solutions.

- Obtain, review, and validate all necessary inputs for assessing components and sub-systems for stress, deformation, vibration, and durability.

- Understand and comprehend the requirements and operating environment of components and systems.

- Perform linear and non-linear stress analysis, modal analysis, and fatigue analysis at the assembly level.

- Carry out analytical calculations using first principles/engineering fundamentals, perform sanity checks on analysis results, and develop MS Excel-based calculators as required.

- Understand and effectively use reference reports, models, ANSYS models, and established processes from past projects.

- Resolve analysis-related issues and convergence problems.

- Interpret analysis results and provide appropriate design recommendations, considering manufacturing, assembly, and cost aspects.

- Prepare clear and concise technical documentation and reports, with good presentation and report-writing skills.

- Communicate effectively and tailor technical communication to the needs of different audiences.

- Be self-driven, with the ability to learn from Cummins processes, reports, and reference ANSYS models and execute projects with minimal supervision.





- Should be able to handle end customers and projects independently.

- Demonstrate a commitment to self-development by actively seeking opportunities to learn and grow through formal and informal development channels.

Skills and Experience Required:

- Experience Range: 3 to 4 Years in structural FEA

- Educational Qualification: B.Tech/B. E or M.Tech/M.E in Mechanical or allied branches

- Tool Knowledge:

- Must have hands-on experience with ANSYS Workbench (Mechanical), Design Modeler/SpaceClaim/Discovery, including FE model preparation for large assemblies with a high number of components.

- Technical Skills:

- Strong Mechanical Engineering fundamentals, including mechanical design, dynamics, stress, fatigue, and bolted joint analysis, with bolted joints as a primary requirement.

- Ability to perform hand calculations and Excel-based calculations regularly for project requirements.

- FEA Skills:

- Understanding of loads and boundary conditions, with experience in linear, non-linear static, modal, fatigue, and assembly-level analysis.

- Modal scaling experience is good to have.

- Experience handling large assemblies with a minimum of 20–30 components, including connections/contacts.

- 3D modelling experience is a must, as 90% of the work involves 3D modelling.

- 2D modelling experience is good to have.

- Good English Communication & soft skills.:

- Good verbal and written communication skills, Ability to create explicit and concise technical documentation.

- Good team player
