Role & responsibilities
Manages the financial operations specific to a manufacturing facility. Their role bridges the gap between floor-level production and corporate financial reporting.
Core Job Responsibilities
- Analyze production costs, value inventory, and calculate the Cost of Goods Sold (COGS). They track movement from raw materials to finished goods to identify waste and improve profitability.
- Inventory Control: Perform regular physical inventory counts and reconcile them with digital book values. This includes monitoring "job work" such as fabric issued/received and tracking material wastage.
- Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including Profit & Loss (P&L;) and balance sheets. They conduct variance analysis to compare actual factory spending against budgeted targets.
- Operational Documentation: Verify supplier invoices for factory purchases,
prepare internal payment vouchers, and maintain meticulous records for audit trails.
- Payroll & Labor Tracking: Manage factory-level payroll, including calculating worker wages, overtime, and statutory deductions like PF (Provident Fund) and ESI (Employee State Insurance).
- Statutory Compliance: Handle tax-related filings such as GST (Goods and Services Tax) and TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) for factory operations.
