Job Summary

PVR INOX is looking for a skilled and responsible Executive – Engineering to manage and supervise the day-to-day engineering and maintenance operations of the cinema.

The role involves ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient functioning of electrical, HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical, plumbing and building maintenance systems while maintaining high standards of safety, preventive maintenance and operational compliance.

The incumbent will report to the AM – Engineering and will supervise engineering team members and technicians to ensure smooth cinema operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Handle day-to-day engineering and maintenance complaints and ensure timely resolution.
- Plan, monitor and follow up on preventive maintenance schedules for all engineering equipment and systems.
- Coordinate building mechanical, sanitary, electrical and other maintenance activities.
- Liaise with contractors and service agencies for maintenance and repair requirements.
- Ensure proper upkeep and maintenance of the cinema's interior, exterior, furniture, fixtures and infrastructure.
- Maintain and repair HVAC and air-conditioning systems, refrigeration units, piping and associated equipment.
- Attend daily briefings and participate in weekly engineering/maintenance meetings.
- Supervise engineering activities and execute tasks as directed by senior management.
- Manage engineering operations across morning, afternoon and night shifts, including emergency/odd-hour requirements whenever necessary.
- Support engineering requirements for promotional activities and special events within the cinema.
- Repair, install and maintain electrical equipment, electrical fittings,



switchboards and related systems.
- Monitor electrical systems and maintain records and analysis of power consumption and supply.
- Ensure smooth handover of engineering activities between shifts.
- Support and monitor engineering requirements related to the projection room and cinema operations.
- Conduct routine inspections of engineering systems and equipment.
- Supervise engineering-related cleaning and maintenance programs.
- Ensure compliance with company SOPs, safety standards and statutory requirements.
- Maintain appropriate engineering records, checklists, reports and maintenance documentation.
- Submit regular engineering and maintenance reports to the Manager/AM – Engineering.
- Lead and guide the engineering team to ensure operational continuity and minimum downtime.

Direct Reportees: Supervisors, Electricians, AC Technicians and Technicians

Indirect Reportees: None

Candidate RequirementsEducational Qualification

- B.Tech / Diploma in Engineering
- Electrical / Mechanical / Electrical & Electronics / related engineering specialization preferred.

Experience
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in engineering, maintenance or facility operations.
- Experience in cinema, multiplex, hospitality, hotels, retail, commercial buildings, malls or other large facilities will be preferred.

Candidate Profile The ideal candidate should be a hands-on engineering qualified with strong technical knowledge and the ability to supervise a team in a fast-paced cinema environment.

Working Conditions
- Work location: Cinema / Multiplex
- Rotational shifts, including morning, afternoon and night shifts.
- Willingness to work on weekends, public holidays and during peak operational periods.
- May be required to attend emergency maintenance situations as per business requirements.
