Position: English Teacher
Grades: Grade 8 onwards
Curriculum: CBSE
Job Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging English lessons for students from Grade 8 onwards, aligned with the CBSE curriculum.
- Teach English Language and Literature, including grammar, reading comprehension, writing, vocabulary, and literary analysis.
- Develop students’ communication, critical thinking, creativity, analytical, and academic writing skills.
- Prepare structured lesson plans, worksheets, assignments, projects, assessments, and examination materials.
- Employ interactive, student-centred, and activity-based teaching strategies to encourage participation and independent learning.
- Conduct regular assessments, evaluate student performance, and provide meaningful feedback for improvement.
- Prepare students for school examinations and CBSE board examinations, where applicable.
- Provide remedial support to students who require additional academic assistance and enrichment activities for advanced learners.
- Maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment.
- Integrate digital resources, multimedia, and educational technology effectively into teaching and learning.
- Encourage students to participate in debates, public speaking, presentations, creative writing, literary activities, and competitions.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, academic progress, and student development.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding students’ academic performance and learning needs.
- Collaborate with colleagues and academic coordinators in curriculum planning and school-wide academic initiatives.
- Participate in parent-teacher meetings, staff meetings, professional development programmes, school events, and co-curricular activities.
- Mentor students and contribute to their overall academic, personal, and social development.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English or a related discipline.
- B.Ed. or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Excellent command of spoken and written English.
- Strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature.
- Good understanding of CBSE curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment practices.
- Excellent classroom management and student engagement skills.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational abilities.
- Ability to use digital teaching tools and up-to-date pedagogical approaches.
- Prior teaching experience with Grade 8 and above will be preferred.
