Job Summary
We are hiring an experienced Engineering Manager – Mobile Applications & QA to lead the end-to-end development, testing, delivery, and release management of a mobile-first product.
The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in full stack mobile app development, backend/API architecture, database planning, QA processes, testing workflows, debugging, and team leadership.
This role will manage a growing technical team consisting of senior and junior full stack mobile app developers and QA engineers. The candidate must be capable of guiding both development and quality teams, reviewing technical decisions, ensuring delivery timelines, maintaining product stability, and preparing the app for production release on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
Lead the complete mobile app development lifecycle from planning to deployment.
Guide architecture decisions for mobile app, backend, APIs, database, admin panel, and cloud infrastructure.
Review and approve technical approaches suggested by developers.
Ensure scalable, secure, and maintainable code practices.
Conduct code reviews and guide developers on performance, security, and best practices.
Support the team in solving complex technical issues, bugs, and production blockers.
Ensure the product is built with clean architecture, proper documentation, and future scalability in mind.
Mobile App Development Management
Lead development for cross-platform mobile applications for Android and iOS.
Work with technologies such as Flutter, React Native, Node.js, Firebase, Supabase, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or similar stacks.
Oversee user authentication, role-based access, media uploads, notifications, maps, admin workflows, dashboards, and backend APIs.
Ensure smooth integration between mobile app, backend systems, admin panel, and third-party services.
Manage app store readiness, including production builds, release testing, deployment, version control, and post-launch fixes.
QA & Testing Leadership
Define QA strategy, test plans, test cases, bug reporting formats, and regression testing processes.
Guide QA engineers on functional testing, API testing, mobile app testing, admin panel testing, performance checks, and security/privacy validation.
Ensure critical flows are properly tested before release.
Maintain testing discipline across Android, iOS, and web/admin environments.
Review bug severity, priority, and release impact.
Ensure no critical or high-priority bugs move into production.
Project Delivery & Team Management
Plan development sprints, task allocation, timelines, and delivery milestones.
Coordinate between developers, QA engineers, designers, product/business teams, and management.
Conduct daily standups, sprint reviews, technical discussions, and delivery checkpoints.
Track task progress, blockers, bug status, and release readiness.
Mentor senior and junior team members.
Maintain accountability across the development and QA team.
Ensure timelines are met without compromising product stability.
Product & Business Alignment
Understand business requirements and convert them into transparent technical execution plans.
Help define MVP scope, feature priorities, and development phases.
Identify technical risks early and suggest practical solutions.
Balance speed, quality, cost, and scalability.
Ensure the product supports future enhancements and expansion.
Required Skills
7–8 years of total experience in software/mobile app development and technical team leadership.
Strong experience in full stack mobile app development.
Hands-on experience with Flutter or React Native.
Strong backend/API development understanding.
Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Firebase, or Supabase.
Experience managing Android and iOS app development.
Understanding of app deployment on Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
Strong knowledge of REST APIs, authentication, role-based access control, and third-party integrations.
Good understanding of QA processes, test planning, bug tracking, regression testing, and release testing.
Experience working with QA engineers and debugging production issues.
Strong knowledge of Git, version control, build management, and deployment workflows.
Ability to review code, architecture, database structure, and API design.
Experience working with tools such as Jira, ClickUp, Trello, GitHub, Postman, Firebase, Supabase, or similar tools.
Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
Prior experience managing mobile app products from scratch.
Experience working on marketplace, listing, CRM, SaaS, real estate, fintech, logistics, or lead-generation platforms.
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, Firebase, Supabase, or DigitalOcean.
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for mobile app deployment.
Basic understanding of UI/UX flows for mobile apps.
Experience with data privacy, secure document handling, user verification, and access-controlled systems.
Exposure to automation testing will be an added advantage.
Ability to hire, train, mentor, and evaluate technical team members.

Qualification
