Your role
- Interpret and analyze project requirements to create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings, ensuring precision and compliance with design standards.
- Lead efforts in product sustenance by supporting continuous improvement initiatives such as value analysis/value engineering (VA/VE), cost reduction projects, and field failure analyses to enhance product performance and reliability.
- Ensure the delivery of engineering outputs with a strong focus on first-time-right execution and adherence to strict timelines, maintaining high-quality standards throughout all phases of design and development.
- Prepare comprehensive engineering documentation aligning with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), quality management systems, and regulatory requirements to facilitate clear communication and traceability.
- Proactively communicate project status, risks, and deliverables to multidisciplinary stakeholders, ensuring transparency and collaborative problem-solving.
- Plan and organize workloads effectively to prioritize customer deadlines while maintaining quality excellence, coordinating seamlessly with cross-functional teams including CAE, electrical design, manufacturing, and quality assurance.
- Participate actively in design reviews and engineering quality audits to uphold best practices and continuous process enhancements.
- Support resolution of technical issues encountered during assembly, testing, and inspection phases, working collaboratively to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and deliver technical presentations and documentation for internal teams and external customers, fostering knowledge sharing and alignment.
To succeed, you will need
- A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering paired with 3-8 years of experience in industrial design, preferably related to compressor packages or mechanical systems.
- Fundamental knowledge of air compressors, assembly techniques, and system integration.
- Proficiency with CAD software (Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD), ERP (SAP/BPCS), and PLM (Enovia) platforms to efficiently develop and manage design data.
- Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, sheet metal, piping design, flange selection, and heavy fabrication processes.
- Basic programming or scripting skills (Python preferred) to support automation and optimization of engineering workflows.
- A detail-oriented mindset with excellent analytical, communication, and cross-functional teamwork skills.
- Self-motivated with a positive attitude, organized approach, and ability to perform under deadlines and competing priorities.
