Role Overview

Gujarat Electroplating Works is looking for a technically capable person to handle laboratory analysis, process quality control, inspection activities, quality documentation and customer-related quality communication at our electroplating and metal finishing plant.

This position combines laboratory work with shop-floor quality supervision. The person will be expected to monitor chemical process conditions, inspect ongoing and completed jobs, maintain quality records and coordinate corrective action wherever required.

Main Responsibilities

Laboratory & Chemical Control

- Conduct routine analysis of electroplating baths and process solutions.
- Check and record chemical concentrations, pH and other required process parameters.
- Maintain laboratory test records and bath analysis reports.
- Coordinate chemical additions and bath corrections with the production team.
- Monitor chemical condition and consistency of plating processes.

Production Quality Control
- Carry out regular in-process inspection during production.
- Verify coating thickness, surface finish, colour, appearance and other job-specific requirements.
- Identify defects, abnormalities and process deviations during production.
- Coordinate with operators and production personnel for immediate corrective action.
- Monitor rework and rejection and help reduce recurring defects.

Final Inspection




- Supervise final inspection of completed jobs before dispatch.
- Ensure parts meet customer specifications and internal quality requirements.
- Verify coating thickness and visual quality before material clearance.
- Maintain final inspection and dispatch quality records.

Quality Documentation
- Maintain inspection reports, test reports, chemical analysis records and quality check sheets.
- Prepare test certificates and customer quality documents when required.
- Maintain records related to rejection, rework, complaints and corrective action.
- Assist in preparation and maintenance of SOPs, inspection standards and internal quality procedures.

Customer Quality Coordination
- Communicate with customers regarding quality complaints, defects and technical concerns.
- Assist in investigation of customer complaints and preparation of root cause analysis.
- Prepare and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.
- Coordinate customer-specific inspection, testing and documentation requirements.

Testing & Verification
- Coordinate coating thickness testing.
- Coordinate Salt Spray Testing and other corrosion-resistance testing where applicable.
- Maintain records of testing and verification activities.

- Other metal finishing processes

Qualification

Preferred

- B.Sc. Chemistry
- M.Sc. Chemistry

OR
- Diploma / Degree in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgy or a related technical field

Experience Experience in any of the following will be preferred:
- Electroplating
- Metal finishing
- Surface treatment
- Chemical process industry
- Quality control
- Quality assurance
- Industrial laboratory work

Candidates with limited experience but a robust chemistry background and willingness to work in an industrial environment may also be considered.

Skills Required

- Practical understanding of chemical laboratory analysis
- Good observation and inspection skills
- Ability to maintain accurate records
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
- Ability to prepare reports and professional emails
- Good coordination and communication skills
- Ability to work both in the laboratory and on the production floor
- Attention to detail and disciplined working habits
