Objective of the Role:

To lead the complete electrical maintenance, power management, project execution and electrical reliability functions of the distillery plant, ensuring minimum equipment breakdowns, safe plant operations and optimum utilisation of electrical systems.

Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Electrical Maintenance & Operations:

- Lead overall electrical maintenance activities across the plant, including HT/LT systems, transformers, VCBs, ACBs, PCC, MCC, DG sets, motors, UPS and electrical distribution systems.
- Ensure reliable operation and maintenance of electrical systems supporting the distillery, power plant and utilities.
- Develop and implement Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Periodic Maintenance schedules.
- Lead troubleshooting and breakdown maintenance and ensure timely restoration of equipment.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) of major electrical failures and implement corrective/preventive actions.
- Coordinate electrical load management, DG synchronization and power distribution.

2. Distillery & Process Plant Maintenance

- Manage electrical maintenance activities for Distillery, Fermentation, Evaporation, CPU, CO and utility plants.
- Ensure smooth operation of electrical maintenance activities.
- Coordinate with Production, Utilities, Mechanical and other departments for uninterrupted plant operations.
- Support optimization and capacity enhancement projects.

3. Power Plant & Utility Management

- Ensure reliable operation and maintenance of plant power generation and distribution systems.
- Manage electrical systems of steam turbine / power generation systems, boilers, DG sets and substations.
- Coordinate operation and maintenance of utilities such as:
- Chillers
- Air Compressors
- RO/Water Treatment Plants
- DG Sets
- LT Distribution Systems
- Steam/Power systems

4. Projects, Erection & Commissioning

- Lead electrical activities for plant expansion,



modification and new projects.
- Prepare electrical requirements, load calculations and equipment specifications.
- Supervise erection, installation, testing and commissioning of electrical systems.
- Ensure projects are completed within approved timelines, budgets and safety standards.

5. Automation & Instrumentation Coordination

- Coordinate with the Instrumentation & Automation team for smooth operation of process control systems.
- Provide electrical support for PLC, HMI, SCADA and VFD systems.

6. Electrical Safety

- Ensure strict compliance with electrical safety procedures and LOTO (Lockout/Tagout).
- Conduct regular safety inspections of electrical installations.
- Ensure proper PPE and protected working practices for electrical personnel.
- Ensure compliance with statutory electrical safety requirements.

7. Spare & Inventory Management

- Identify and maintain adequate stock of critical electrical spares.
- Prepare annual/monthly spare requirements.
- Coordinate with Purchase and Stores for timely procurement.

8. Team Management

- Lead and manage electrical engineers, supervisors, electricians and technicians.
- Ensure discipline, productivity and adherence to safety procedures.

- Strong knowledge of HT/LT electrical systems
- Electrical distribution and power management
- DG set and turbine-generator electrical systems
- Motors, starters and VFDs
- APFC and power factor management
- PLC/HMI/SCADA coordination
- Electrical project execution and commissioning
- RCA and troubleshooting

Preferred Candidate Profile: Candidate should have 10-15 years of relevant experience in electrical maintenance and projects, preferably in a grain-based distillery.

Experience in handling distillery electrical systems, captive power plants, boilers, turbines, HT/LT distribution, DG sets, VFDs, automation and electrical projects will be highly preferred.
