Job Title:- Die Maker

Job Purpose To manufacture, fit, assemble, trial, and maintain press tools and dies as per approved designs and engineering drawings. The position is responsible for ensuring dimensional accuracy, smooth tool functioning, timely tool development, and effective troubleshooting to support uninterrupted production.

1. Key Responsibilities Tool Manufacturing & Assembly Manufacture and assemble press tools, dies, punches, inserts, and related tooling components as per approved drawings.

Perform die fitting, assembly, alignment, clearance setting, and adjustments to achieve required accuracy and performance.

Carry out bench fitting, grinding, drilling, tapping, polishing, and other tool-making activities as required.

Ensure all components are manufactured and assembled within specified dimensions and tolerances.

Verify component fitment and functionality before tool trials. Tool Trial & Troubleshooting Conduct tool trials in coordination with the Tool Room and Production teams.

Identify and rectify issues related to dimensional variation, burrs, alignment, clearances, material flow, tool wear, and other tooling problems.

Carry out necessary modifications and adjustments based on trial results.

Ensure successful tool validation and approval before production release.

Support troubleshooting of recurring tooling issues during production.

Tool Maintenance & Improvement Carry out preventive maintenance of press tools and dies to ensure reliability and optimum tool life.

Respond promptly to tool breakdowns and support quick restoration of production. Monitor tool performance and identify opportunities to improve tool life and productivity.





Maintain records of tool maintenance, repairs, modifications, and trial results.

Coordinate with Design and Production teams to implement improvements in tool design, performance, and life.

Coordination & Compliance Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T;, dimensions, tolerances, and specifications accurately.

Coordinate with Tool Designers, Production, Quality, and other relevant departments for tooling-related activities.

Provide feedback to the Design team regarding manufacturability and tool performance. Follow approved work instructions, quality standards, safety procedures, and Tool Room practices.

Maintain proper housekeeping and follow 5S standards within the Tool Room.

. Qualification: 10th / 12th / ITI / Diploma / B.E. Mechanical. PG in Tool Room will be an added advantage.

Experience: 2–5 years of relevant experience in Die Making, Press Tool Manufacturing, Tool Fitting, or Tool Room operations.

Hands-on experience in press tool assembly, fitting, tool trials, troubleshooting, and maintenance is preferred.

Experience with progressive, compound, or other types of press tools will be an added advantage.

8. Ideal Candidate Profile The ideal candidate will be a hands-on Die Maker with solid practical experience in press tool manufacturing, fitting, assembly, and trials. The candidate should be able to independently interpret engineering drawings, understand GD&T; and tolerances, perform accurate die fitting and alignment, and troubleshoot tooling issues.
