About the Role

We are looking for a DevSecOps Engineer to take complete ownership of our cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipeline, security posture, observability, and business continuity.

You will be the primary infrastructure and security owner, working closely with the Head of Engineering. This is a hands-on role with significant architectural ownership—you'll be building, securing, and scaling infrastructure that supports a privacy-first platform.

Infrastructure and release management are currently handled by an external engineering partner. A key part of this role will be bringing these responsibilities in-house, taking ownership of the existing Terraform infrastructure, and establishing strong engineering and security practices.

What You'll Own:

- AWS Infrastructure: ECS Fargate, VPC, Aurora/RDS, MSK and KMS in ap-south-1
- Infrastructure as Code: Terraform with consistent environments and production parity
- CI/CD: GitLab CI/CD, OIDC federation and automated security gates
- Observability: CloudWatch, X-Ray and centralized log aggregation
- Security: WAF, Shield, Secrets Manager, Private CA, mTLS, GuardDuty and AWS Config
- Business Continuity: Backups, restore testing, disaster recovery and retention
- Cloud Cost Management: Monitoring and explaining infrastructure costs
- Incident Management: On-call ownership, troubleshooting and postmortems

Key Challenges: This role goes beyond traditional infrastructure operations.

- Build observability and debugging systems without exposing customer data
- Implement and demonstrate data residency within India, including backups, logs and replicas
- Design infrastructure that supports long-term data retention and regulatory requirements
- Build security controls that can actively prevent insecure releases
- Take ownership of infrastructure as the primary DevSecOps function during the early stage





Minimum Qualifications:

- 6+ years of experience managing production cloud infrastructure, or 4+ years with an advanced degree
- 4+ years of hands-on Terraform experience managing production environments
- 4+ years of AWS experience across compute, networking and data services
- Strong experience with ECS or equivalent container orchestration, VPC, RDS/Aurora and IAM
- 3+ years of CI/CD ownership, including SAST, DAST, dependency and secret scanning
- Working knowledge of AWS KMS, encryption, certificate lifecycle and mTLS
- Strong scripting skills in Python or Bash
- Experience handling production incidents and on-call responsibilities
- Strong technical documentation and postmortem writing skills

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience implementing data residency/data sovereignty requirements
- Hands-on Kafka/MSK operations
- Experience with SOC 2 or ISO 27001 infrastructure compliance
- Experience with compliance automation platforms
- AWS Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer or Security Specialty certification
- Hands-on experience with Private CA, WAF/Shield, GuardDuty and AWS Config

Pay: ₹150,000.00 - ₹191,666.00 per month
