About the Role

We're hiring a DevOps Engineer to run and secure our on-premise Kubernetes infrastructure, with a robust emphasis on access control, auditability, and connectivity into a government State Data Centre. You'll own everything from cluster setup and networking to identity/secrets management and disaster recovery, in an environment where security and compliance are as important as uptime. This role suits someone who's comfortable operating in regulated, government-adjacent infrastructure rather than a standard cloud-native shop.

What You'll Do

- Set up, operate, and maintain on-premise Kubernetes clusters, including workload deployment, ingress/networking configuration, and storage (including S3-compatible object stores).
- Own access control end-to-end: RBAC design, identity and secrets management, network segmentation, and provisioning of read-only database access for internal and external consumers.
- Build and maintain audit-friendly configurations that hold up to compliance and security review.
- Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines for reliable, repeatable deployments.
- Set up monitoring, alerting, backups, and disaster recovery processes across the infrastructure.




- Establish and maintain secure tunneling/connectivity into a government State Data Centre.
- Collaborate with engineering and security stakeholders to harden infrastructure against evolving compliance requirements.

Must-Have Qualifications
- Strong Kubernetes experience on-premise: cluster setup, workload deployment, ingress/networking, and storage (including S3-compatible object stores).
- End-to-end access control experience, including:
- RBAC
- Identity and secrets management
- Network segmentation
- Read-only database access provisioning
- Audit-friendly configurations
- Experience with CI/CD, monitoring, and backups/DR.
- Experience setting up tunneling/connectivity into a government State Data Centre.

Nice to Have
- Prior experience with government or regulated-environment deployments.
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tooling (Terraform, Ansible, or similar).
- Experience with compliance frameworks or security audit processes in the public sector.
