Design Engineer - Steel Tower Lifecycle Support

We are seeking a highly skilled Design Engineer to join our team in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. The successful candidate will be responsible for the independent and responsible development of structural and equipment components for wind turbines, specifically in the field of steel and hybrid towers.

Key Responsibilities

- Independently develop structural and equipment components for wind turbines.
- Serve as the Design Engineer for general mechanical design, including brackets, cable guidance, and components relevant to personal safety.
- Create requirements/specifications, product specifications, and development reports.
- Design and dimension components in steel, aluminum, welded, bent, and sheet metal constructions.
- Participate in project work within interdisciplinary teams for the holistic definition of components.
- Review work results from other internal or external design engineers.
- Collaborate in cost-down teams and programs to optimize components.
- Perform CAD modeling and drawing creation with NX-Unigraphics.
- Manage product data within Teamcenter 14.
- Evaluate and process quality issues, support external service providers,



and conduct patent research or creation as necessary.

Requirements
- Completed degree in mechanical engineering (diploma, master's degree, university of applied sciences, university, state certified engineer, or engineering-related studies).
- Specialization in design, manufacturing technology, or product development is preferred.
- Training or further education as a welding engineer is an advantage.
- Several years of experience in the development and design of steel, sheet metal, or welded constructions.
- Several years of experience in the creation of development documents.
- Experience in the application of development methodology.
- Extensive experience with NX-Unigraphics and Teamcenter.
- Knowledge of wind turbines and/or the wind energy industry is an advantage.
- Strongly independent, self-responsible, and team-oriented working style.
- Open and friendly demeanor, transparent and binding communication style, flexibility, and willingness to perform.
