- Own the NPD lifecycle: Lead recent products from concept sketch through prototyping, design iteration, testing, and final handover to fabrication and production teams.
- Prototype and validate: Build and test proof-of-concept and pilot units, run structured trials, capture learnings, and iterate rapidly based on results.
- Design for manufacturability: Review every new design against DFM/DFA principles, production constraints, and cost-efficiency, working closely with fabricators and vendors.
- Standardize documentation: Develop 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical specifications that carry a design cleanly from prototype to repeatable production.
- Vendor and tooling coordination: Identify, evaluate, and manage vendors and fabrication partners for prototype and production runs; make build-vs-buy calls on components and technology.
- Scout innovation: Conduct market and technology research to benchmark emerging materials, components, and design approaches against current and competing solutions.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Work with the CTO, project managers,



and field/operations teams to translate real-world deployment feedback into design improvements.
- MUST-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 5+ years of experience in new product development, product design, or design engineering, with a demonstrated track record of taking products from concept through prototype to production handover
- Hands-on experience with prototyping, design iteration, and trial-based validation (not purely drafting or documentation-only roles)
- Strong working knowledge of DFM/DFA and manufacturing processes (injection moulding, sheet metal, fabrication, or similar)
- Proficiency with 3D CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Creo, or equivalent
- Experience coordinating with vendors, mold/tool makers, or fabrication partners through to production
- Fluent in Marathi, Hindi, and English
