Role & responsibilities

GST Return Preparation & Filing

- Prepare GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, and annual return data for all registrations.
- Validate outward and inward supply data against books of account.
- Ensure returns are filed within statutory due dates.
- Maintain filing acknowledgements and working papers.

1. Input Tax Credit Management

- Reconcile GSTR-2A / 2B with purchase register and books.
- Identify, track, and follow up on mismatched and missing vendor invoices.
- Ensure eligible credit is availed and ineligible credit is reversed correctly.
- Maintain ITC reconciliation trackers and ageing of unmatched items.

1. E-Invoicing & E-Way Bill Compliance

- Monitor generation of e-invoices and e-way bills across locations.
- Resolve IRN generation failures and system errors.
- Ensure documentation compliance for goods movement.
- Coordinate with Logistics and Plants on exception handling.

1. Reconciliation & Ledger Control

- Reconcile GST liability, credit, and cash ledgers with books.




- Transparent differences and ensure correct accounting of tax entries.
- Support monthly and annual GST closing activities.
- Maintain state-wise compliance status dashboards.

1. Notices, Assessments & Departmental Support

- Compile data and documentation for GST notices, audits, and assessments.
- Support consultants and the tax lead in drafting responses.
- Track notice status, timelines, and closures.
- Maintain a repository of departmental correspondence.

1. Process & Systems

- Follow defined SOPs and compliance calendars.
- Support automation of GST data extraction and reconciliation.
- Keep updated on GST law changes, circulars, and notifications.
- Coordinate with IT on ERP and GST tool enhancements.

Preferred candidate profile

- 4-8 years of experience in GST compliance, indirect taxation, or finance shared services.
- Working knowledge of SAP, GST portals, and reconciliation tools is essential.
