Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Modeler / Data Designer to lead the design, development, and governance of enterprise data models with a strong focus on risk data domains. The role holder will translate complex business and regulatory requirements into robust conceptual, logical,



and physical data models, and will build analytical solutions using SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) and Power BI to support risk management, regulatory reporting, and executive decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Data Modeling & Design
- Design and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models across enterprise data warehouse, data marts, and analytical platforms.
- Develop and enhance dimensional models (star/snowflake schemas) and normalized models to support risk, finance, and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Define and enforce data modeling standards, naming conventions, and metadata documentation across the bank.
- Perform data profiling, source-to-target mapping, and gap analysis for new and existing data domains. - Collaborate with data architects, ETL developers, and business analysts to ensure models are accurately implemented and performant.

Risk Data Management
- Design and manage data models covering credit risk, market risk, operational risk, and liquidity risk domains. - Support regulatory and compliance reporting requirements (e.g., Basel III/IV, IFRS 9, BCBS 239, Central Bank of UAE reporting) through fit-for-purpose data structures.
- Work closely with Risk Management and Finance stakeholders to ensure data lineage, quality, and completeness of risk data aggregation.
- Contribute to data governance initiatives, including data dictionaries, business glossaries, and data quality rules for risk data.

Analytics & BI Development (SSAS & Power BI)
- Design, build, and optimize SSAS cubes (Multidimensional and/or Tabular models), including DAX/MDX measures, partitions, and security roles.
- Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, datasets, and reports for risk, business,



and executive stakeholders.
- Implement row-level security, incremental refresh, and performance tuning best practices across SSAS and Power BI solutions.
- Manage Power BI workspace governance, dataset certification, and deployment pipelines.

Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership
- Act as a subject matter expert on data modeling and BI, advising business and technology teams.
- Mentor junior data modelers, BI developers, and analysts.
- Participate in solution design reviews, architecture forums, and vendor evaluations.
- Communicate complex data concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders, including senior management.

Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- 8+ years of experience in data modeling, data warehousing, and business intelligence, preferably within banking or financial services.
- Proven hands-on experience designing enterprise data models (conceptual, logical, physical) using tools such as ERwin, ER/Studio, PowerDesigner, or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience working with risk data (credit, market, operational, or liquidity risk) and supporting risk/regulatory reporting.
- Solid hands-on expertise with SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) – Tabular and/or Multidimensional – including DAX and/or MDX.
- Advanced SQL skills and solid understanding of the Microsoft data stack (SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS).
- Solid understanding of data warehousing methodologies and data governance principles
