Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Data Architect to lead the re-architecture and modernization of our enterprise data platform using open-source technologies.The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Enterprise Data Warehouse, Data Modeling, Lakehouse Architecture, Data Governance, and modern open-source data platforms. This role is not limited to ETL/pipeline development; the candidate will be responsible for making architecture decisions, defining data models, leading migration strategies, and building scalable data platforms.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead end-to-end data platform architecture and re-architecture using open-source technologies.
- Design and implement Medallion Architecture (Bronze → Silver → Gold).
- Define robust data models, including dimensional modeling, Kimball and Data Vault approaches.
- Eliminate duplication and inconsistencies across fact and dimension models.
- Define standards for data ingestion, transformation, quality, cataloging, archiving and governance.
- Lead migration from legacy ETL platforms such as SSIS, Pentaho and Informatica to modern open-source technologies.
- Design CDC-based ingestion from MySQL, PostgreSQL and Salesforce.
- Build scalable transformation and incremental-loading strategies for large and skewed datasets.
- Design and implement Lakehouse architecture using Delta Lake or Apache Iceberg.




- Develop scalable orchestration using Apache Airflow.
- Implement transformation frameworks using dbt Core.
- Develop query and processing solutions using Trino/Presto and Spark/PySpark.
- Establish data-quality frameworks using Great Expectations and dbt tests.
- Design Gold-layer data products for Tableau and ReactJS/Python applications.
- Establish data lineage, observability, monitoring and governance practices.
- Drive CI/CD, Git and Infrastructure-as-Code practices.
- Design secure, scalable, high-performance and cost-efficient self-hosted data platforms.
- Create architecture diagrams, migration strategies and phased implementation roadmaps.
- Collaborate with backend, BI and application teams and mentor engineers on open-source data engineering best practices.

Must-Have Skills
- 7+ years of experience in Data Architecture / Data Engineering.
- Strong experience in Enterprise Data Warehouse & Data Platform Architecture.
- Lakehouse Architecture – Delta Lake / Apache Iceberg.
- Apache Airflow – DAG design, best practices and scaling.
- dbt Core – incremental models and transformation.
- Airbyte or similar ingestion/CDC tools.
- Trino / Presto.
- Strong Data Modeling – Kimball,



Data Vault, Fact & Dimension modeling.
- MySQL, PostgreSQL & Salesforce integration.
- Strong understanding of CDC, incremental loading and large/skewed datasets.
- Migration experience from SSIS / Pentaho / Informatica.
- Strong Python, SQL and Spark/PySpark.
- Linux administration and self-hosted deployment experience.
- Data quality, governance, lineage and observability.
- Robust understanding of scalable enterprise data architecture.

Good to Have
- MinIO / Ceph – S3-compatible storage.
- DataHub / Amundsen – Data Catalog.
- Docker / Kubernetes / GitOps.
- Tableau / BI ecosystem exposure.
- Experience reducing infrastructure footprint and optimizing platform costs.
- Open-source implementation or contribution experience.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT or equivalent.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to independently drive architecture decisions and technical roadmaps.
- Strong ownership mindset with experience designing scalable systems without depending solely on proprietary cloud platforms.

Important Candidate Profile Priority should be given to candidates who have actually designed/architected Enterprise Data Platforms, Data Warehouses or Lakehouse solutions.

Candidates whose experience is primarily limited to ETL pipeline development should not be considered a strong fit for this role.

Pay: ₹2,500,000.00 - ₹2,600,000.00 per year
