About The Role

HCLSoftware is seeking a highly skilled Security Engineer to join its Office of the CISO team. This role is pivotal in designing, deploying, and maintaining security controls that safeguard the company's enterprise and cloud infrastructure.

The Security

Engineer will be responsible for hands-on configuration, coding, and integration of security platforms rather than documentation or future planning. Owning security controls end-to-end, from initial design and rollout to ongoing tuning, automation, and operational health management, the ideal candidate will work closely with Security Operations Center (SOC), Vulnerability Management, IT, and Cloud Engineering teams. The goal is to enhance the security posture by leaving environments better instrumented, resilient, and responsive to emerging threats.

Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess over five years of experience in security engineering, infrastructure security, or related roles with demonstrated ownership of enterprise security platforms.



Strong expertise in cloud security, including experience with major cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, is essential. Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, PowerShell, or Go, coupled with experience working with vendor APIs, is required.

A solid understanding of operating system internals, networking, and identity protocols such as SAML, OIDC, and OAuth is necessary. Candidates should also have experience with infrastructure as code, version-controlled workflows, and troubleshooting complex environments effectively.

Certifications in cloud security or related fields are advantageous but not mandatory.

Responsibilities The Security Engineer will be responsible for deploying, configuring, and maintaining core security platforms, including Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), email security, Secure Service Edge (SSE), cloud security posture management, and identity controls. They will design control rollouts that address coverage gaps, handle exceptions, optimize performance, and facilitate rollback procedures. Integration of security tools with SIEM and SOAR systems to ensure telemetry and response actions are actionable is a key focus.

The role involves monitoring control health, including agent coverage, policy compliance, and failure detection. Additionally, the engineer will implement and uphold security guardrails across multiple cloud platforms,



develop hardened baselines aligned with industry standards, and engineer secrets, key, and certificate management workflows. Supporting secure network design, automation of security operations, incident response, and remediation are also core responsibilities.

The role extends into AI security engineering, where safeguarding AI/LLM systems against threats like prompt injection and model poisoning is vital. Developing automation workflows, monitoring AI tool usage, and staying abreast of emerging AI threats are integral parts of the role.
