About RATI:

RATI (Rights. Action. Technology. Inclusion.) Foundation, is a Mumbai-based organisation, that works to address gender based violence against women and children in both online and offline spaces by supporting survivors and families until they thrive again.

We address the issue of gender-based violence through three interconnected pillars: immediate response, long-term survivor recovery and systemic reform. Our helpline, Meri Trustline, is India’s trusted support service for online abuse. Beyond this, through our Socio Legal Interventions we provide on-ground legal representation, counselling and social support to children and women survivors of gender violence.

What sets RATI apart is our multidisciplinary team that has the ability to work across multiple vulnerabilities with a comprehensive, holistic approach ensuring survivors not only regain safety, but also have the chance to thrive again.

Our work has been recognized with the Presidential National Award (2017) for launching India’s first hotline to report Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM), and the Social Innovation Award (2024) from Pune International Centre for our pioneering efforts in addressing online gender-based violence through Meri Trustline.

Background:

Meri Trustline is a telephonic helpline and RATI’s flagship program where children & young people facing online risks can easily reach out for meaningful support, redressal and guidance. We do this by blending together technology & social work practice with mental health and legal support to ensure comprehensive well-being and safety of the victim. Since inception in 2022,



the trustline has supported more than 500 survivors of online violence and have been successful in taking down more than 2500 pieces of offending content/accounts.

:

- The role’s core focus will be to respond appropriately to calls, messages, and emails of children, women and marginalised genders and families who are in distress on account of facing online harms.
- Offering support to the child victim or an adult survivor through remote and if required on ground field case management interventions.
- Handling difficult and emotional calls and/or complaints in a professional, polite, calm and empathetic manner.
- Review and report offending content or accounts based on the standard operating procedures of the trustline, platform guidelines and relevant legal frameworks
- Liaison with a range of external organisations, stakeholders and specialists such as online platforms, grievance officers, child welfare committee members, police among others.
- Case Documentation and maintaining records, monthly reports of the calls, emails and chats. Please note that a specific case management software is used for this purpose. (Training on using the software will be provided)
- Other duties as assigned, consistent with the above duties

Desirable Qualifications/Experience:

- Post graduate degree in Psychology with specialization in Masters in Counselling, Clinical or Applied Psychology/Masters in Medical and Psychiatric Social Work.




- Relevant experience of minimum 1-2 years.
- Keen to work at the intersection of mental health, technology, and gender.
- Speak Marathi, Hindi and English & possess good writing skills in English.
- Be skilled in the use of computers for the purpose of documentation and chat-based counselling.

Terms of Engagement:

- This is a full-time position based in Mumbai.
- The candidate will be required to undertake field work on a regular basis.
- We work 05 days a week (Monday to Friday) but depending on cases and emergencies, holiday and weekend work may be required. This will be duly compensated.

Salary Range & Benefits:

- Salary: INR. 22,000 to INR. 25,000
