Role & responsibilities
- Evaluate patients through detailed history-taking and neurological examination.
- Diagnose and manage common neurological conditions under appropriate clinical guidance.
- Review and interpret relevant investigations including MRI, CT, EEG, EMG/NCS, and laboratory reports.
- Develop and implement appropriate treatment plans based on clinical findings and investigations.
- Manage patients with conditions such as stroke, epilepsy, headache, seizures, movement disorders, neuropathies, and other neurological disorders.
- Provide timely consultation for OPD, IPD, Emergency, and referred patients.
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as clinically indicated.
- Recognize and manage neurological emergencies with timely escalation to senior consultants when required.
- Counsel patients and their attendants regarding diagnosis, treatment options, prognosis, and follow-up care.
- Maintain accurate and complete patient medical records and clinical documentation.
- Coordinate with Neurosurgery, Internal Medicine, Critical Care, Radiology, Emergency Medicine, and other specialties as required.
- Participate in clinical rounds, case discussions, and multidisciplinary meetings.
- Assist in the management of critically ill neurological patients in coordination with the ICU team.
- Follow hospital clinical protocols, infection-control practices, and patient-safety standards.
- Participate in clinical audits, quality initiatives, academic activities, and continuing medical education programs.
- Maintain professional ethics, patient confidentiality, and high standards of patient care.
Preferred candidate profile
- Strong clinical assessment and neurological examination skills.
- Good knowledge of neurological disorders and their management.
- Ability to interpret MRI and CT brain/spine findings with clinical correlation.
- Basic understanding of EEG and EMG/NCS reports.
- Good communication and patient counselling skills.
- Ability to identify and respond appropriately to neurological emergencies.
- Strong clinical decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
- Good documentation and medical record-keeping skills.
- Patient-centric approach with qualified and ethical conduct.
- Willingness to work in rotational duties, emergency calls, and on-call responsibilities as per hospital requirements.
- DNB / DrNB / DM in Neurology ONLY
- Fresher to 2 years of experience
