Position: Finance Consultant – Compliance

Program: Central Operations

Location: Santacruz, Mumbai

Reports to: Director – Finance

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced finance qualified to lead statutory compliances, accounting, audits, payroll, banking, payments and financial systems, while ensuring strong financial controls and compliance across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee statutory compliances, audits and financial reporting.
- Ensure timely filing of TDS, FCRA, Income Tax and Charity Commissioner returns.
- Manage and supervise payroll, salary and consultancy processing.
- Oversee accounting, reconciliations, donations and grant-related accounting.
- Coordinate statutory and funder audits and liaise with auditors and tax advisors.
- Oversee banking, payments and related documentation.
- Strengthen and standardize finance systems, processes and documentation.
- Coordinate with Program and Domain teams for smooth financial operations.




- Lead finance team planning, delegation, training and capacity building.
- Support financial compliance related to funder MOUs and vendor contracts.

What We’re Looking For

- Master’s in Commerce/Financial Management, CA Intermediate/equivalent or CA.
- 10+ years of experience in Accounts/Finance/Audit, including 5+ years in a managerial role.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the non-profit sector – mandatory.
- Experience managing large budgets and multiple donors.
- Strong knowledge of donor procedures, compliances and Indian laws applicable to non-profits.
- Experience handling scrutiny proceedings, audits and financial reporting.
- Advanced knowledge of accounting and financial management.
- Strong working knowledge of Tally ERP 9 and MS Office (Word, Excel, PPT).
- Strong leadership, analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
