Role: Project Head - Civil
Role Summary: The Project Head - Civil is responsible for planning, execution, monitoring, and completion of all greenfield, brownfield, infrastructure, structural, and industrial projects within approved budgets, quality standards, and timelines. The role shall lead and coordinate civil, structural, and mechanical project interfaces for ferro alloys and heavy industrial facilities, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, safety standards, and project management best practices. The incumbent should possess solid experience in planning and executing ferro alloy plant projects, including furnaces, raw material handling systems, utility infrastructure, structural installations, and associated industrial facilities.
Project Planning & Execution
- Develop project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource requirements for civil, structural, and mechanical projects.
- Lead execution of greenfield, brownfield, plant expansion, and infrastructure projects within approved timelines and costs.
- Coordinate with consultants, architects, structural designers, mechanical engineering teams, and contractors.
- Review civil, structural, and mechanical engineering drawings, BOQs, layouts, and technical specifications.
- Ensure seamless integration of civil, structural, and mechanical works during project execution.
- Monitor project progress and drive timely completion of project milestones.
- Ensure quality execution as per approved standards and project specifications.
- Manage execution of ferro alloy plant projects, including furnace buildings, equipment foundations, conveyor systems, raw material handling facilities, utility networks, and industrial structures.
Ferro Alloys Project Management
- Lead end-to-end execution of ferro alloys plant projects and expansion initiatives.
- Coordinate installation requirements for submerged arc furnaces, material handling systems, crushing and screening units, pollution control systems, and related infrastructure.
- Ensure readiness of structural and civil foundations for mechanical equipment installation.
- Work closely with production, operations, and technical teams for project commissioning and plant startup.
- Monitor project risks and implement mitigation plans specific to ferro alloys manufacturing facilities.
- Drive project execution in accordance with industry standards, statutory regulations, and operational requirements of ferro alloys plants.
Construction Management
- Oversee day-to-day site activities and construction progress.
- Ensure adherence to approved designs and specifications.
- Resolve site execution challenges and technical issues.
- Monitor contractor performance and productivity.
- Ensure proper documentation of project activities.
Cost & Budget Management
- Prepare project budgets and cost estimates.
- Track project expenditures against approved budgets.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
- Approve contractor bills and work certifications.
- Manage variation orders and project cost controls.
Contract & Vendor Management
- Participate in contractor and vendor evaluation.
- Monitor contractor compliance with contractual obligations.
- Ensure timely procurement of project materials.
- Coordinate with procurement for project requirements.
- Review vendor performance periodically.
Quality Assurance
- Ensure all works comply with engineering standards.
- Conduct regular quality inspections and audits.
- Ensure testing and certification of materials.
- Address non-conformities and corrective actions.
- Implement continuous improvement practices.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Liaise with production, maintenance, EHS, and HR teams.
- Coordinate with government authorities as required.
- Ensure effective communication among project stakeholders.
- Present project status reviews to management.
Manpower
- Lead, coach, and develop project teams.
Management
- Allocate resources effectively across projects.
- Drive employee engagement and performance management.
- Identify training and skill development requirements.
- Ensure succession planning for key positions.
MIS & Reporting
- Prepare weekly and monthly project progress reports.
- Monitor project KPIs and milestones.
- Present dashboards and project reviews to management.
- Recommend corrective actions for deviations.
Safety, Environment & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and standards.
- Enforce zero unsafe acts and unsafe conditions.
- Ensure environmental compliance during project execution.
- Conduct safety reviews and risk assessments.
- Promote safe construction practices across all sites.

Preferred candidate profile
Work Experience:
Total Experience: 15-20 Years in Civil Construction, Structural Projects, Industrial Projects, Mechanical Project Coordination, Ferro Alloys Plants, Infrastructure Development and Project Management, with experience in leading large industrial expansion projects.
Preferred Qualification: B.E./B.Tech Civil Engineering. M.Tech / MBA (Project Management) preferred.
