Key Responsibilities
- Architectural Planning &
- Design
- Prepare and review architectural layouts, floor plans, elevations, sections, and detailed drawings.
- Develop space planning and building layouts based on project requirements.
- Coordinate architectural and civil drawings with structural, electrical, plumbing, and other services.
- Modify drawings based on site requirements and management/consultant feedback.
- Ensure drawings comply with applicable building codes, standards, and project requirements.
- Prepare working drawings and construction details for site execution.
2.
Civil Engineering
Design
- Prepare civil and structural-related drawings in coordination with structural consultants.
- Review foundation, flooring, roofing, drainage, and other civil works as required.
- Check drawings for dimensional accuracy and constructability.
- Provide technical support to the site team for design-related issues.
- Identify design discrepancies and coordinate necessary revisions.
3. Estimation &
- BOQ
- Prepare detailed quantity take-offs, BOQs, cost estimates, and rate analysis for civil and architectural works.
- Calculate quantities for concrete, reinforcement, brickwork/blockwork, plaster, flooring, painting, steel, doors/windows, and other construction activities.
- Prepare estimates based on drawings, specifications, market rates, and project requirements.
- Review contractor quotations and compare rates and quantities.
- Assist in tender preparation, quotation evaluation, and contractor finalization.
- Monitor project costs against approved budgets.
4. Drawing &
- Documentation
- Prepare and maintain AutoCAD drawings and other technical documentation.
- Review architectural drawings, structural drawings, and shop drawings.
- Maintain revision control and ensure the latest approved drawings are available at the site.
- Prepare as-built drawings based on actual site conditions.
- Maintain project-related technical records and documentation.
5. Site Coordination &
- Execution
- Coordinate with site engineers, contractors, architects, consultants, and vendors.
- Conduct site visits to monitor work as per approved drawings and specifications.
- Resolve technical and drawing-related issues during construction.
- Verify measurements and quantities executed at site.
- Monitor quality of civil and architectural works.
- Ensure work is completed within the approved schedule and budget.
6. Vendor &
- Contractor Coordination
- Obtain quotations from contractors and vendors for civil and architectural works.
- Evaluate technical and commercial aspects of quotations.
- Coordinate with contractors regarding drawings, quantities, specifications, and execution methodology.
- Verify contractor bills and measurements against actual work completed.
- Assist in negotiation of rates and finalization of work orders.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of civil construction and architectural design.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential.
- Knowledge of SketchUp/Revit will be an advantage.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel and MS Office.
- Robust understanding of BOQ, estimation, rate analysis, and quantity surveying.
- Knowledge of construction materials and methods.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
- Good knowledge of building codes, construction standards, and safety requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks and meet deadlines.
Educational Qualification
- B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Civil Engineering.
- Additional qualification/certification in Architecture, Quantity Surveying, or Project Management will be an advantage.
Experience
- 3–7 years of relevant experience in civil engineering, architectural design, estimation, and construction.
- Experience in commercial, industrial, residential, or factory construction projects will be preferred.
