Role & responsibilities
- Project Execution: Oversee all civil engineering activities in office, including excavation, grading, drainage, and concrete works for substation foundations.
- Structural Oversight: Manage the construction of critical substation civil infrastructure, including transformer foundations (oil containment pits), gantry towers, equipment support structures, and control room buildings.
- Vendor & Subcontractor Management: Coordinate with civil subcontractors, geologists, and structural designers to ensure alignment with project blueprints and timelines.
- Quality & Compliance: Ensure all civil works strictly comply with utility standards, electrical safety clearances, local building codes, and environmental regulations.
- Technical Review: Review engineering drawings, geotechnical reports, and structural calculations to identify and resolve constructability issues early.
Preferred candidate profile
- Education: Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
- Experience: 3 to 5+ years of civil engineering experience, with a strict requirement for direct experience in electrical substation projects (AIS/GIS systems, transmission line tie-ins).
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of heavy equipment foundation design, concrete curing specifications, structural steel erection, and underground trenching/concreting for cabling.
- Software Proficiency: Familiarity with AutoCAD, STAAD. Pro, or project management tools (Primavera/MS Project) is highly desirable.
- Attributes: Strong leadership skills, excellent problem-solving abilities on-site, and a uncompromising commitment to safety protocols.
