Chief Engineer – Oil/Chemical TankerWe are seeking an experienced Chief Engineer for an Oil/Chemical Tanker. The candidate will be responsible for the secure and efficient operation, maintenance, and management of all vessel machinery and engineering systems.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage and supervise the Engine Department and ensure safe and efficient operation of all machinery.
- Ensure proper maintenance and reliability of main engine, auxiliary engines, boilers, pumps, cargo-related machinery and associated systems.
- Ensure compliance with SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM, ISGOTT, Class, Flag and Company requirements.
- Maintain engineering records, planned maintenance systems, inventories and technical documentation.
- Monitor fuel, lubricating oil and spare-parts consumption and maintain cost-effective operation.
- Supervise repairs, maintenance, troubleshooting and overhauls, including coordination with shore-based technicians and service engineers.




- Support safe cargo operations and ensure proper operation of cargo-related machinery and systems.
- Ensure compliance with pollution-prevention requirements and maintain readiness for PSC, Flag and Class inspections.
- Conduct risk assessments, toolbox meetings and safety training within the Engine Department.
- Investigate machinery defects and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.

Requirements:

- Valid Chief Engineer CoC and relevant STCW certification.
- Previous experience as Chief Engineer on Oil/Chemical Tankers.
- Good knowledge of tanker safety, cargo operations and applicable statutory/Class requirements.
- Troubleshooting and maintenance management skills.
- Valuable communication and reporting skills.
