About The Role The role is an integral part of P&G;'s global supply chain and logistics operations, focused on managing the end-to-end import and export processes for raw materials, finished goods, equipment, and spare parts. The primary objective is to ensure the timely and compliant import of RPMs and finished goods, along with meticulous documentation handling. This position involves coordinating with multiple internal teams and external partners such as freight forwarders, customs authorities, shipping lines, and other logistics providers to optimize costs, maintain compliance, and support business continuity.
The ideal candidate will possess experience in international trade operations, logistics, customs procedures, and freight forwarding, with a strong understanding of shipping documentation, regulatory requirements, and system tools like SAP and TMS. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, leading initiatives that contribute directly to the company's operational excellence and cost efficiency.
Qualifications The successful candidate should have a minimum of 2 years of experience in logistics, export/import operations, customs,
freight forwarding, or related fields within a similar industry. A solid understanding of international trade procedures, documentation, and compliance is essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel for reporting and analysis, is required.
Basic knowledge of SAP and TMS systems is mandatory, with additional familiarity serving as an advantage. Excellent written and oral communication skills are necessary to effectively coordinate with diverse stakeholders across geographies. Candidates should demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage and execute India import shipments from various countries via sea and air, ensuring adherence to timelines and cost targets.
- Plan and coordinate import activities, including dispatch, customs clearance, and documentation, to facilitate seamless supply chain flow.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of export-import operations, systems, and regulations to independently execute dispatches and shipments.
- Monitor and oversee the performance of contractor resources involved in logistics activities to ensure compliance and efficiency.
- Ensure dispatch timelines are met, maintaining business continuity even under uncertain or challenging business scenarios.
- Operate and update relevant systems such as SAP and TMS to reflect shipment statuses, payments, and compliance documentation accurately.
- Engage with regional teams and external vendors to uphold control requirements, conduct audits,
and review KPIs for vendors and service providers.
- Monitor external compliance requirements across different countries, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to regulations.
- Coordinate payment processes to prevent disruptions, ensuring timely processing of vendor invoices related to imports.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings by analyzing end-to-end activities and executing projects aimed at reducing logistics expenses.
- Establish regular communication channels with stakeholders across geographies to track progress, resolve issues, and ensure compliance.
