Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, on-site Business Development Internship based in Ernakulam.

As a Business Development Intern, you will work closely with the business development and leadership team to identify potential clients, research businesses, generate leads, and support the sales process.

You will get hands-on exposure to how an eCommerce agency identifies opportunities, approaches brands, understands business requirements, presents solutions, and converts prospects into clients.

Key Responsibilities

- Research and identify potential eCommerce and Shopify clients.
- Build and maintain a prospect database and sales pipeline.
- Find and qualify new business opportunities through online research, LinkedIn, email, calls, and other channels.
- Understand a prospect's business, website, eCommerce setup, and potential areas for improvement.
- Assist in preparing proposals, presentations, audits, and sales materials.
- Support the team in communicating Mayday Internet's Shopify, CRO, and eCommerce consulting services to prospects.
- Participate in client calls and sales meetings to understand the complete deal cycle.
- Follow up with prospects and maintain relationships throughout the sales process.
- Maintain accurate records of leads, conversations, follow-ups, and opportunities in the CRM.




- Track sales activities and prepare basic reports on pipeline and business development efforts.
- Coordinate with the internal team to understand project capabilities, service offerings, and client requirements.
- Assist with onboarding new clients after a deal is closed.
- Contribute ideas for improving lead generation, outreach, and business development processes.

Qualifications
- Strong interest in sales, business development, eCommerce, or digital marketing.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable speaking with business owners, founders, and potential clients.
- Ability to research companies and understand their business models.
- Valuable written and verbal English communication.
- Basic understanding of eCommerce, websites, Shopify, or digital marketing is an advantage.
- Comfortable using Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, LinkedIn, and online research tools.
- Organized and capable of maintaining follow-ups and managing multiple prospects.
- Analytical and curious mindset with an interest in understanding why businesses succeed or struggle online.
- Self-driven and willing to take ownership of assigned tasks.
- Bachelor’s degree or currently pursuing a degree in Business, Marketing, Commerce, Management, or a related field is preferred.
