Role Description The Battery Researcher will conduct laboratory experiments and electrochemical testing focused on sodium-ion battery materials and cells in a full-time, on-site position based in Chennai. Daily responsibilities include designing and executing experiments, preparing and characterizing electrode and electrolyte materials, and analyzing performance data to optimize cell chemistry and configurations. The role involves documenting procedures and results, preparing technical reports, and contributing to patent and publication efforts.
The Battery
Researcher will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, maintain laboratory equipment and safety standards,
and support the scaling of promising technologies from lab prototypes to larger-format cells or modules.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of electrochemistry, battery materials science, and energy storage systems, with specific interest in sodium-ion technologies.
- Hands-on experience in laboratory work such as cell fabrication, materials synthesis, electrode preparation, and operation of characterization tools (e.g., cyclers, potentiostats, spectroscopic or microscopic techniques).
- Ability to design experiments, analyze complex datasets, use relevant software tools, and interpret results to guide performance improvements.
- Proficiency in technical writing and documentation, including preparation of reports, presentations, and contributions to publications or patents.
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or a related field; prior battery or electrochemical research experience is highly preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to laboratory safety and quality standards.
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams, communicate clearly, and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced research environment.
