About The Role

We are seeking experienced Backend Java Engineers to join our Sustainment & Enhancement Squad. This role primarily involves supporting and maintaining integrations with Oracle Retail Cloud MFCS, along with contributing to ongoing system enhancements. The position is support-heavy, with approximately 70% of the responsibilities centered around troubleshooting, incident resolution, and system support, and the remaining 30% dedicated to development activities.

The role offers an excellent opportunity for mid-level professionals with a solid background in Java and Spring Boot to work remotely within India, participating in a shared on-call rotation to ensure continuous system availability. The successful candidates will be responsible for analyzing complex production issues, implementing sustainable solutions, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve system stability and performance.

Qualifications The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 4 to 7 years of experience in Java backend development and production support. Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot is essential,



along with hands-on experience working with Kafka for real-time streaming and event-driven architectures. A strong understanding of REST APIs, service-to-service communication, and distributed backend systems is required.

Candidates should have solid SQL and relational database knowledge, with demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve production issues efficiently. Familiarity with application logs, monitoring tools, and root cause analysis techniques is necessary.

Experience with integration patterns, testing practices, and participating in on-call support is highly desirable. Knowledge of cloud platforms and DevOps practices will be considered an advantage.

Responsibilities

- Develop a comprehensive understanding of Oracle Retail Cloud MFCS, including its APIs, integration points, and related services.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and support integrations with Oracle Retail Cloud MFCS and associated backend systems.
- Analyze logs, database queries, API responses, Kafka events, and other system data to identify and resolve production issues promptly.
- Diagnose issues across multiple services, determining whether problems originate within applications, databases, or external systems.
- Participate actively in incident management, conduct root cause analysis, and develop permanent solutions to prevent recurrence.
- Maintain and enhance existing Java and Spring Boot applications through bug fixes, minor upgrades, and performance tuning.




- Develop and maintain comprehensive unit and integration tests to ensure system robustness.
- Adhere to coding standards, participate in code reviews, and contribute to documentation and monitoring practices.
- Collaborate closely with senior engineers, L3 support, and other teams to resolve complex issues and implement architectural improvements.
- Engage in shared on-call support, ensuring effective communication, issue tracking, and escalation when necessary.
