About The Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Backend Developer specializing in Java to join our dynamic engineering team at BNP Paribas. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining robust backend solutions that support our digital banking platforms and internal systems. This role requires a deep understanding of Java programming and related frameworks, as well as experience working within Agile methodologies.

The Backend

Developer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including front-end developers, business analysts, and product managers to deliver scalable, high-quality software solutions that align with the company’s architectural standards and business objectives. The ideal candidate will be passionate about technology, eager to innovate, and committed to delivering excellence in every aspect of their work.

Qualifications The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field,



complemented by a minimum of six years of professional experience in software development. Demonstrable expertise in Java, specifically version 11 or higher, is essential, along with a comprehensive understanding of Core Java concepts such as Collections, Multithreading, and Streams API. Candidates should have extensive experience working within the Spring ecosystem, including Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Spring Security, as well as Hibernate for ORM.

Proficiency in SQL and hands-on experience with relational databases are required. Familiarity with testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito is also necessary. Additionally, experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins and automation platforms such as Ansible will be considered advantageous.

Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and implement scalable backend applications using Java, ensuring adherence to best practices and architectural standards.
- Translate functional requirements and business needs into detailed technical specifications and system designs.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code, performing comprehensive unit and integration testing to ensure high quality.
- Participate actively in peer code reviews, providing constructive feedback to uphold coding standards and promote continuous improvement.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects and performance issues promptly, ensuring optimal system performance in both development and production environments.
- Engage in Agile ceremonies such as Sprint Planning,



Daily Stand-ups, and Retrospectives, fostering effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
- Execute continuous integration and deployment processes using CI/CD pipelines to facilitate smooth and reliable software releases.
- Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends, proposing enhancements to existing systems to improve scalability, robustness, and security.
