ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

Maitrayana implements the Young People's Initiative (YPI), a sport-for-development programme that empowers adolescent girls and young women to realise their full potential. YPI focuses on creating safe and inclusive spaces through sport in Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru.

Building on this foundation, Maitrayana engages YPI alumni through the Economic Justice Programme (EJP), which aims to enhance young women's access to economic opportunities. The programme supports participants in pursuing their economic empowerment goals by helping them acquire essential knowledge, skills, attitudes, and experiences, with guidance from mentors, parents, and industry partners.

ROLE OVERVIEW

This is a full-time position for an Associate who is passionate about contributing to Maitrayana’s sport-for-development programmes at the ground level. The Associate will be responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring YPI programme delivery across designated sites in the city, in alignment with Maitrayana’s core values of integrity, transparency, respect, and inclusion.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Planning and Programme Implementation

- Take overall responsibility for programme management at designated YPI sites in the city, encompassing netball and life skills delivery across all programme levels (Nirman, Pragati, Akanksha, Vriddhi, and Siddhi).
- Coordinate the recruitment of participants in schools and communities, ensuring high-quality delivery of life skills and netball sessions through effective planning, supervision, and monitoring.
- Conduct daily session monitoring at approximately 6–7 sites and develop implementation timelines accordingly.
- Build and maintain strong rapport with all stakeholders, conducting structured interventions with them throughout the programme year.
- Organise events at respective sites and coordinate with coaches to plan and execute sports events and tournaments.
- Ensure the availability of required equipment, sports kits, and materials for the team on the ground.
- Ensure Child Protection Policies (CPP) are upheld in accordance with Maitrayana’s guidelines at all sites.

2. Supervision and Capacity Building of Staff

- Support the recruitment and ongoing supervision of field staff.
- Provide capacity building, training, continuous support, and mentoring to staff members.

3. Event Management

- Plan and execute programme events effectively in collaboration with the coordinator and team members.
- Ensure timely preparation, coordination, and follow-up for all events.

4. Office and Financial Management

- Contribute to the smooth day-to-day functioning and maintenance of the city office.
- Prepare and submit monthly budgets required for programme implementation at respective sites to the coordinator.




- Prepare and submit the monthly bill summary sheet, along with supporting documentation, to the City Coordinator.

5. Reporting and Documentation

- Review session reports submitted by coaches and provide clear written and verbal feedback to improve quality.
- Collect and monitor participant data, attendance, baselines, and end-line assessments on the AVNI platform, meeting targets for data entry and reporting to the City Coordinator.
- Prepare and submit monthly reports, monthly billing summaries, and ensure session plans, attendance registers, and peer audit records are maintained for respective sites.
- Report on progress, challenges, and change stories from the sites in a timely manner, and actively collaborate with the City Coordinator to address challenges.

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES We are looking for an individual who is excited to contribute to building the organisation based on the values of integrity, transparency, respect, and inclusion.

Experience

- A minimum of four to five years of experience in delivering life skills and play-based activities with adolescents and youth.

Skills and Competencies

- Strong interpersonal skills, with experience working in multicultural and multidisciplinary team environments.
- Solid documentation and presentation skills.
- Fluency in local languages is required.

- Ability to manage multiple assignments concurrently.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and solution-oriented approach to work.
- Positive outlook and alignment with Maitrayana’s organisational culture and values.

- Training skills and the ability to facilitate engaging sessions with young people.
- Working knowledge of computers, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Willingness to travel as required.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High levels of integrity and reliability, with a demonstrated ability to take initiative.

Pay: ₹480,000.00 - ₹540,000.00 per year
