Job Title: Assistant Manager – Product Development

Role Overview:

Lead and support product development activities for personal care categories from concept to commercialisation. Lead day-to-day laboratory operations delivering innovative formulations that meets business objectives while ensuring regulatory compliance, manufacturing feasibility, and successful commercialisation through benchmarking, stability evaluation, scale-up, technology transfer, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. Ensure timely project execution, accurate technical documentation, and continuous improvement of product performance, cost, and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and support end-to-end projects, including new product development, renovations, line extensions, and cost optimisation across hair care and personal care categories.
- Translate consumer insights and business requirements into innovative product formulations.
- Conduct competitive benchmarking, literature review, ingredient evaluation, and technology scouting to identify recent formulation opportunities and emerging trends.
- Conduct batch making in lab and associated activities.
- Plan, execute, and monitor accelerated and real-time stability studies.




- Collaborate with Claims, Packaging, Procurement, Regulatory, Quality, and Manufacturing teams for claims support, packaging compatibility, raw material qualification, regulatory compliance, technology transfer, and successful commercialisation.
- Interactions with external experts, vendors, analytical laboratories, 3rd party manufacturers and collaborators during various stages of product developments.
- Conduct pilot trials, scale-up activities, first commercial production and provide technical solutions for manufacturing and process-related challenges.
- Manage project timelines by tracking milestones and ensuring timely delivery of agreed project objectives.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation of project activities.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on product quality, formulation robustness, process efficiency, innovation, and cost optimisation.
- Maintain clean, organised and compliant laboratory standards. GLP’s to be followed and implemented.

Qualifications & Experience:

6-8 years of experience in FMCG R&D; with significant experience in end-to-end personal care product development, preferably Hair & Skin.

Qualification:

M.Tech/ B.Tech in Chemical engineering/Oil Technology /Cosmetic Technology.

M.Pharm/B.Pharm
