We're hiring: Assistant Manager - Mechanical Design & Prototyping | IF MedTech, Navi Mumbai
At IF MedTech, we take medical devices from concept to design transfer - mechanical, electronics and software, under design control.
We're now looking for someone to lead mechanical design across multiple concurrent device programs. This is a hands-on role with first-line project and people responsibility: driving concept generation and detailed design, reviewing the team's output, and working shoulder-to-shoulder with vendors and manufacturing partners to turn designs into protected, compliant, manufacturable products.
What you'll own
- Mechanical design of enclosures, instruments and electromechanical assemblies — concept to production-intent
- 3D models, detailed drawings and BOMs in SolidWorks
- Design reviews at each stage gate, and design outputs that stand up to ISO 13485, ISO 14971, IEC 60601-1, IEC 62366 and ISO 10993
- Engineering calculations, tolerance stack-ups and FEA-supported validation
- DFM, DFA, DFMEA, PFMEA across injection moulding, sheet metal, casting, CNC and 3D printing
- Vendor identification,
qualification and coordination across the Mumbai–Pune manufacturing ecosystem
- Task allocation, multi-project planning, and mentoring junior design engineers
What we're looking for
- B.E./B.Tech/M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
- 8-10+ years in mechanical design, with 5–7 years in medical devices or other regulated products
- Strong SolidWorks, GD&T; and tolerance analysis
- Prior experience reviewing others' design work and allocating tasks
- Bonus: orthopaedics, surgical instruments, diagnostics; a design services background; Six Sigma/Lean exposure
