Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Accountant role based in Mizoram, India. The Accountant will manage day-to-day financial operations, including recording transactions, maintaining ledgers, and preparing financial statements for the organization and its programs.

Responsibilities include handling accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, expense tracking, and supporting budget preparation and monitoring. The role also involves ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards, non-profit regulations, and donor reporting requirements, as well as assisting with audits and maintaining organized financial records.



The Accountant will collaborate with program and leadership teams to provide accurate financial data that supports funding proposals, program planning, and decision-making.

Qualifications

- Solid accounting and bookkeeping skills, including general ledger management, financial statement preparation, and reconciliation of accounts.
- Ability to manage budgeting, financial planning, and expense tracking for multiple projects or programs.
- Knowledge of non-profit financial management, including grant and donor reporting, statutory compliance, and audit support.
- Proficiency with accounting software, spreadsheets (e.g., Excel), and basic financial analysis tools.
- Attention to detail, accuracy in data entry, and strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., CA, CMA, or equivalent) is an advantage.
- Experience working in a non-profit or development sector environment is preferred, especially in India.
- Ability to work on-site in Mizoram and familiarity with local context and regulations is beneficial.
