Role Description The Academic Counselor role is a full-time, on-site position based at Acharya Institutes in Bengaluru. The counselor will support students through academic advising, helping them understand program requirements, plan course selections, and track their progress. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting individual and group counseling sessions, addressing academic and personal challenges, and guiding learners on career and higher education options.

The role involves collaborating with faculty and administrative staff to monitor student performance, identifying learners who may need additional support,



and organizing informational sessions or workshops. The counselor will maintain accurate records, follow institutional policies, and contribute to initiatives that enhance student engagement and success.

Qualifications

- Strong student counseling and academic advising skills, with the ability to support learners from diverse backgrounds.
- Career counseling and education-related expertise to guide students on future study paths and employment opportunities.
- Excellent communication skills, including active listening, clarity in guidance, and empathetic interaction.
- Relevant academic background in Education, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.
- Experience in an academic or student-facing role, preferably in higher education or institutional counseling.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, manage multiple cases, and work collaboratively with faculty and staff.
- Proficiency in basic office software and comfort with student information systems or counseling-related tools.
