We bring together technology and process expertise to deliver the next generation of applications for Shared Platforms. You are responsible for building next generation tools and services that serve consumer ready product information to Nike experiences and back end teams. We are in the process of modernizing our entire product data platform, building scalable applications and services in the cloud. Our operations tools are used by hundreds of users across the globe to plan, prepare, and activate Nike products across multiple Nike consumer experiences. Our product data APIs are being updated to unlock Omni-channel business cases, and support billions of API calls per month. This is a team that’s always on the offense, working on innovative solutions and building world class solutions to serve Nike teams and consumers around the globe.

- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

- 5+ years of technical leadership experience leading a 15+ person full-stack development teams

- 10 -15 years of technical expertise building services using micro service architecture, domain driven design, and RESTful Services using languages such as Java, Node, Python etc.

- Experience in owning delivery of the capabilities in your portfolio - APIs, pipelines, services, UX applications, partnering with product on the roadmap and trade-offs.

- Experience in managing Engineering Managers and/or senior ICs - coaching them, growing their careers, and holding the bar on engineering and leadership excellence

- Experience in owning production reliability, security, and cost across your squads - setting SLAs, leading major incident response, and driving operational maturity.

- Experience in partnering with the platform teams to adopt recommended toolkits and blueprints, and influence the platform roadmap where gaps exist.

- Experience in attracting and hiring exceptional engineers, build an inclusive and high-trust culture, and grow people across levels from SWE I to Principal Engineers.

- Representing the organisation in cross Nike forums, contribute to enterprise architecture and governance decisions,



and translate strategy into clear team commitments.

- Experience in leading designing and implementing highly scalable services on cloud

- Possess a proven technical background and deep knowledge of software engineering principles, exceptional problem solving, design, programming, and testing skills

- Proven experience designing and developing on the AWS cloud infrastructure is a must. AWS components: CloudFormation, CloudFront, EC2, ECS, RDS, SQS, SNS, DynamoDB, S3, Lambdas and API Gateway

- Experience with GraphQL and OpenSearch is a plus

- Experience in designing and integrating GenAI/LLM-powered capabilities (RAG, prompt engineering, MCP, and spec-driven development) within scalable full‑stack applications

- Strong AI-first mindset, actively leveraging AI powered developer tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code etc) to accelerate development and learning

- Familiarity with security technology and concepts (Authentication, Authorization, Single sign-on, etc.)

- Experience with CI/CD across multiple platforms, such as GitHub action, Jenkins, Slack, Jira

- Strong experience building and maintaining cross-platform test automation frameworks

- Observability experience building monitoring dashboards in tools like SignalFx, New Relics, and Splunk

- A track record of solving problems and getting things done in a fast-paced, results-oriented, and customer-focused environment

- Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills to effectively connect with both business and technical teams

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

As a Sr. Manager of Software Engineering on our Shared Platforms Technology Engineering team, you will craft the technical vision, design, build, lead and own robust global web applications. We have broad experience of successfully delivering value and our contributions will help Nike realize efficiencies and build profitable consumer experiences. We're looking for someone who is passionate about developing and leading global web-scale applications in the cloud.

- Strong technical foundation in UX, backend and/or data engineering - able to engage in design reviews, challenge architecture choices, and earn the trust of senior ICs.

- Proven experience leading teams that build and operate production platforms - APIs, pipelines, services at scale.

- Demonstrated ability to set multi-quarter roadmaps, balance KLO/TCO reduction with new investment, and drive aggressive simplification.

- Track record of attracting, hiring, growing, and retaining strong engineering talent across levels (SWE I through Principal).

- Strong operational rigor - SLAs, observability, on-call practices, incident response, capacity and cost management.

- Innovating, architecting, designing, and implementing highly available, scalable systems, focusing on highly visible marketing initiatives





- Own the design and development of a technical solution that meets the needs of the business and aligns with architectural and quality standards

- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to your teammates and develop a team environment that promotes collaboration and innovation

- Advocate technical direction, define standard methodologies, inform team principles, and evaluate decisions and their impact on the architecture

- Write clean, maintainable code that is scalable, reliable, and observable to the team’s business deliverables

- Work in full DevOps model leading the entire tech stack including implementing, deploying, monitoring, and operating services at scale

- Ensure software is of the highest quality that meets all deliverables within the constraints of demanding schedules

- Provide technical leadership in design and implementation of GenAI-powered capabilities (RAG, prompt-driven workflows, MCP and spec-driven architectures) to deliver faster, scalable, intelligent capabilities & experiences

- Resolve technical issues and remove blockers for the team

- Encourage innovation by learning new technologies and creating prototypes to share new technical approaches with the team

- Partner with the Product Owners to drive clarity on requirements, define technical options, provide estimates of effort and risk, and evaluate technical feasibility

- Great product sense and communicate effectively both verbally and written in a variety of settings and tailor communications to the target audience

- Influence others through optimism, self-assurance, and fact-based recommendation
