Job Summary
The GL Accountant will support the General Ledger and Record-to-Report function for multiple nVent entities by ensuring timely and accurate month-end close, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany accounting, statutory reporting support, OneStream reporting, audit coordination, and compliance-related accounting activities. The role requires strong accounting knowledge under IGAAP and US GAAP, attention to detail, ownership mindset, ERP proficiency, and the ability to work collaboratively across Finance, AP, AR, Tax, HR, Operations, and global teams.
Core Responsibilities
- Perform month-end close activities for assigned legal entities and ensure completion within corporate timelines.
- Prepare, review, and post journal entries, including accruals, provisions, prepaid amortization, payroll-related entries, reclassifications, and other recurring or non-recurring entries.
- Review trial balance and financial statements on a monthly basis and provide explanations for major variances and abnormal balances.
- Prepare and complete balance sheet account reconciliations with appropriate supporting documents and timely resolution of open items.
- Support intercompany accounting, review intercompany mismatch reports, and coordinate with AP, AR, and global teams to resolve mismatches before month-end close.
- Ensure proper accounting of GST, TDS, TCS, customs, and other statutory-related GL balances in coordination with tax and compliance teams.
- Support bank reconciliation, clearing account review, open item management, and timely closure of aged balances.
- Coordinate with AP and AR teams for sub-ledger to GL reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial reporting.
- Support statutory audit, tax audit, internal audit, transfer pricing audit, and other compliance reviews by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documents.
- Assist in preparation of financial statements, schedules, notes to accounts, and audit-related deliverables for assigned entities.
- Maintain proper documentation for journal entries, reconciliations, audit schedules, and month-end close controls.
- Monitor compliance trackers and support responses to GST, income tax, customs, and other regulatory matters.
- Work with cross-functional teams to collect data required for accounting, audit, reporting, and compliance activities.
- Identify process gaps, support corrective actions, and contribute to standardization, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure adherence to company accounting policies, delegation of authority, internal controls, and financial close procedures.
Qualifications and Skills
Education
Chartered Accountant qualification is mandatory.
Experience
Minimum 3 years of post-qualification experience in General Ledger, Record-to-Report, Month-End Close, Financial Accounting, Reconciliations, OneStream reporting, IGAAP, US GAAP, Audit Support, GST/ Statutory Compliance.
Technical Knowledge
Strong understanding of accounting principles, journal entries, accruals, provisions, balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany accounting, IGAAP, US GAAP, statutory accounting, financial reporting, GST Compliances, Withholding Tax Compliances and internal controls.
Systems
Working knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP, M3, or SyteLine. Proficiency in OneStream reporting is required. Experience with BlackLine, HFM,
or similar reporting/reconciliation tools is preferred.
MS Office
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including reconciliations, data analysis, pivot tables, lookups, and reporting templates.

- Experience in multi-entity accounting and working in a shared service or regional finance setting.

- Good understanding of GST, TDS, TCS, statutory audits, tax audits, and India compliance requirements.
- Ability to work with global stakeholders and support reporting requirements across multiple time zones.
- Mindset for process improvement, automation, standardization, and strong governance.
