Job Summary
We are looking for a Chemist to join our laboratory team and perform accurate and reliable chemical analysis and testing of customer samples. The role will be responsible for laboratory testing, preparation and standardization of solutions, equipment calibration, and maintaining accurate laboratory documentation and records.
What will you be doing
- Perform chemical analysis and testing of customer samples in accordance with established laboratory procedures and quality standards.
- Prepare and standardize chemical reagents and standard solutions required for laboratory testing.
- Operate, calibrate, and support the validation of laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Perform testing using advanced analytical instruments such as ICP-OES, HPLC, and Ion Chromatography (IC), in addition to routine laboratory equipment.
- Ensure the accuracy, reliability, and timely completion of laboratory test results.
- Maintain and monitor laboratory records, test reports, equipment records, and other relevant documentation.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and identification of samples, chemicals, and laboratory materials.
- Follow applicable laboratory safety procedures, quality standards, and internal processes.
- Support troubleshooting of testing issues and contribute to continuous improvement of laboratory processes.
Who are you
- Graduate / Postgraduate / Engineering qualification with Chemistry as a major or relevant subject.
- 3-4 years of relevant experience in a chemical testing laboratory.
- Experience in surface finishing / surface treatment laboratory testing will be preferred.
- Hands-on experience with analytical instruments such as ICP-OES, HPLC, and IC is highly desirable.
What competencies will you need
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Positive knowledge of chemical analysis and laboratory testing procedures.
- Hands-on experience with analytical laboratory instruments and basic laboratory equipment.
- Good working knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel.
- Strong documentation and record-keeping skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a laboratory team.
- Strong focus on quality, accuracy, safety, and compliance.
