Role & responsibilities
Document Review and Technical Commenting
- Review supplier quality and technical documents, including PQPs, ITPs, QCPs, FAT and test procedures, datasheets, drawings, certificates and inspection records, against contractual and technical requirements.
- Prepare technically justified comments, assign the applicable document review status and verify closure of previous comments.
- Assign the applicable document review status and record the basis for the decision.
- Review document revisions and verify the satisfactory closure of previous comments.
- Verify ITP intervention points and consistency among related specifications, datasheets, drawings and procedures.
Instrumentation and Control Documentation Review
- Review supplier manufacturing, assembly and inspection documentation for process instruments, analyzers, control valves/actuators, fire and gas devices, metering packages, DCS, ESD, PLC, SIS and associated control panels.
- Review the instrumentation and control scope of rotating, static and packaged equipment, including vibration, axial-position, speed/overspeed and temperature monitoring; seal and lubrication-system instruments; local panels; alarms, trips and shutdown interfaces; and package-mounted instruments.
- Verify materials and parts, pressure testing, calibration, accuracy, repeatability, hysteresis, functional testing, enclosure/IP protection, Ex marking, nameplates and traceability, as applicable.
- Review control-valve and actuator documentation, including body/trim materials, NDE, hydrostatic and seat-leakage tests, stroking, fail action and accessory checks.
- Review control-panel and system manufacturing records, including BOMs, panel layouts, internal wiring,
continuity/insulation tests, I/O simulation, software/configuration records and FAT results.
- Evaluate ATEX/IECEx and functional-safety documentation, including SIL certificates, reports and safety manuals, where required by the project.
Final Documentation and Nonconformities
- Review discipline documentation within MRBs, MDRs and final data books for completeness and compliance.
- Evaluate related NCRs, deviations, concessions and waivers, including supporting close-out evidence.
Process Monitoring and Coordination
- Track submissions, review dates, open comments and revisions through the VDRL/SDRL and EDMS.
- Coordinate and consolidate inputs from Client and ENKA Engineering, Procurement, Project Quality, Expediting and shop surveillance teams.
- Review technical queries and inspection reports received from shop inspectors, provide document-related technical support and monitor recurring supplier nonconformities.
- Attend supplier kick-off meetings, PIMs and technical clarification meetings when required
Preferred candidate profile
- Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation, Control, Electronics, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in instrumentation/control QA/QC or supplier quality,
including considerable vendor document review experience, preferably within oil and gas, petrochemical, power or industrial projects.
- Ability to review ITPs, manufacturing procedures, materials, calibration/functional tests, panel wiring and assembly records, FAT documents and certification records.
- Ability to assess instrumentation, machinery-protection functions and control-system interfaces incorporated into rotating, static and other multidisciplinary equipment packages.
- Strong knowledge of the manufacturing, assembly, inspection and factory testing of process instruments, control valves, analyzers, fire and gas devices, metering packages, control panels, DCS, ESD, PLC and SIS hardware.
- Working knowledge of applicable IEC and ISA standards, including IEC 60079, IEC 60529, IEC 60534, IEC 60770, IEC 61298, IEC 61508, IEC 61511, ISA-5.1 and ISA/IEC 62443, as relevant to the scope.
- Relevant professional certifications in instrumentation, automation, functional safety, hazardous-area compliance, quality or related technical disciplines are preferred
- Valuable knowledge of ISO 9001 QMS requirements; auditor certification is preferred.
- High proficiency in written English, with the ability to prepare clear, concise and technically defensible comments.
- Proficiency in MS Office, PDF markup tools and electronic document management systems.
- Previous experience with SAP or a similar ERP system is preferred.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple vendor documents and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
Willingness to undertake limited travel for supplier meetings, PIMs or FATs when specifically required.
