Overview

We are looking for a Functional Tester with 2u20133 years of experience in banking/financial services applications. The candidate will be responsible for executing functional testing activities across banking applications, validating business requirements, identifying defects, and supporting the overall quality assurance and release process.

The ideal candidate should have good exposure to banking processes, solid functional testing fundamentals, and the ability to work effectively with business analysts, developers, and senior QA team members. Responsibilities

Understand business requirements, functional specifications, and user stories. Prepare and execute functional test cases and test scenarios. Perform functional, regression, system integration, and retesting activities. Validate end-to-end business workflows across banking applications. Identify, document, track, and retest defects using standard defect management tools. Perform test data preparation and validation. Support requirement traceability and maintain test execution evidence. Participate in defect triage and provide clear defect details to development teams. Support test planning, execution reporting, and release readiness activities. Coordinate with developers, Business Analysts, and senior testers to resolve functional issues. Ensure testing activities are completed within agreed timelines and quality standards. Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Finance, or a related discipline. 2u20133 years of experience in software functional testing. Prior experience in banking, financial services, NBFC, payments,



or related BFSI applications is preferred. Good understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and defect life cycle. Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodology is preferred. Essential skills

Strong understanding of functional testing concepts. Ability to analyze requirements and derive test scenarios and test cases. Experience in functional, regression, integration, and system testing. Good defect identification, documentation, and tracking skills. Basic understanding of SQL for data validation. Good understanding of test execution and test evidence management. Ability to understand and validate end-to-end business flows. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented delivery environment. Desired skills

Banking domain knowledge, particularly in one or more of:

Core Banking Retail/Corporate Banking Lending Payments Financial Accounting Experience with tools such as Jira, ALM, Azure DevOps, or equivalent. Exposure to API testing using Postman or similar tools. Basic SQL query-writing skills. Exposure to Agile ceremonies and sprint-based testing. Knowledge of test management and requirement traceability tools. Experience

2u20133 years of overall software testing experience. Preferably 1+ year of experience in BFSI/banking application testing. Experience should primarily be in functional testing rather than purely automation or non-functional testing.
