Role Purpose

This is the domain anchor for the account. The Senior Consultant is the single point of accountability for turning a telecom operators business language into requirements engineering can build against - and, over time, for bringing telecom-market ideas to the client before the client has to ask for them.

Key Responsibilities

- Act as the primary domain translator between the clients business stakeholders and the development/QA teams, reducing the number of times the clients business team has to explain a request from scratch.

- Convert telecom/CSP business asks - billing and charging rules, subscription and bundle logic, partner/channel commissions, hardware + cloud + connectivity bundling, order-to-activation flows - into clear, structured requirements and user stories.

- Own and groom the domain backlog jointly with client stakeholders and product/engineering leads; sit in sprint planning and prioritization discussions as the domain voice.

- Proactively track the telecom market - regulatory shifts, 5G/IoT monetization trends, competitor telco cloud and enterprise plays - and convert relevant signals into concrete feature or innovation proposals for the client.

- Mentor the mid-level and junior analysts on telecom domain concepts and on how the clients organization specifically operates.

- Represent the domain function in business reviews and steering conversations with the client, so platform decisions are grounded in telecom reality rather than generic SaaS assumptions.

- Build reusable playbooks, glossary, and onboarding material that let this domain-support model be replicated for other telecom accounts.

Must-Have Skills Experience

- 5-8 years in the telecom industry - with a CSP/MVNO, a telecom systems integrator, a telecom BSS/OSS product company, or a telecom-focused consulting practice.

- Robust working knowledge of telecom BSS/OSS fundamentals: billing/charging, subscription and bundle management, order-to-cash, partner/channel commission structures.





- Working knowledge of the telecom regulatory landscape as it touches enterprise telecom services - licensing basics, KYC, data handling norms.

- Direct exposure to telecom go-to-market: enterprise sales motion, channel/distributor ecosystems, and how connectivity is bundled with cloud and hardware.

- A track record spanning both the technical/cloud side and the business/GTM side of telecom - for example, prior experience within a Cloud SaaS practice, a cloud product management function, or an enterprise IT organization inside a telecom operator, rather than purely a delivery-side background.

- Excellent stakeholder management and requirement-elicitation skills - genuinely comfortable being the translator between a telcos business team and a software engineering team, not just a note-taker.

- Prior hands-on exposure to a BSS/OSS or telecom billing platform (e.g. Amdocs, Netcracker, Comviva, Subex, CSG, Sterlite, Openet, TCS HOBS) or direct telco-side experience in product, enterprise business, or partner management.

Nice-to-Have

- TM Forum certification (Business Process Framework/eTOM, Open APIs).

- Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or equivalent Agile product-ownership certification.

- An MBA or formal product/marketing management education, especially if paired with hands-on telecom or cloud product experience.

- Exposure to Microsoft CSP/NCE, AWS or Google Cloud reseller/marketplace programs.

- Hands-on exposure to enterprise IoT or 5G monetization use cases.

- Understanding of how a telecom operators own enterprise IT or cloud/SaaS practice function evaluates and adopts platforms like billing, OSS, or CRM.

- Prior experience mentoring or leading a small analyst team.

Education

Engineering Graduate / MBA or equivalent qualification with mandatory experience in the Telecom domain.
