Card Issuing Test EngineerJob Summary

We are looking for an experienced Card Issuing Test Engineer with strong expertise in the Cards domain and BFSI testing. The candidate should have hands-on experience in testing the complete Card Issuing and Card Management lifecycle, along with strong knowledge of card transaction processing, authorization, clearing, and settlement.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain Test Strategies, Test Plans and Test Scenarios for Card Issuing functionality.

- Define test scope, testing approach, scenarios, test data requirements, timelines and dependencies.

- Perform Functional, Integration, Regression, System Integration and End-to-End testing.

- Estimate testing effort and provide realistic testing timelines.

- Analyze business and functional requirements and translate them into comprehensive test scenarios.

- Identify risks, dependencies and critical testing areas across the Card Issuing lifecycle.

- Validate integrations between Card Management/Issuing platforms, banking systems and card schemes.

- Execute transaction-level testing and validate end-to-end transaction processing.

- Identify, document and track defects through to closure.

Card Issuing Domain Experience

Strong understanding and hands-on testing experience across the complete Card Issuing lifecycle, including:

- Customer/Cardholder onboarding

- Card application

- Card eligibility and product selection

- Card creation and issuance

- Card activation

- PIN management

- Card status management

- Card replacement and renewal

- Card blocking/unblocking

- Card expiry and lifecycle management

Card Transaction Testing

Experience testing the following card transaction types:

- Purchase transactions

- POS transactions





- ATM transactions

- E-commerce transactions

- Contactless transactions

- Cash withdrawal transactions

The candidate should be able to:

- Validate authorization requests and responses.

- Test successful, declined and exception scenarios.

- Validate authorization/response codes.

- Verify available balance and credit-limit impacts.

- Validate authorization holds and releases.

- Test transaction reversals and refunds.

- Validate transaction status across the complete processing lifecycle.

- Verify clearing and settlement processing.

Card Schemes

Hands-on experience with one or more major card schemes, preferably:

- Visa

- Mastercard

Good understanding of scheme-based transaction processing and interaction between the issuer, card network and other participating systems is expected.

Required Skills & Experience

- 5–8 years of overall software testing experience within BFSI.

- Strong Cards domain experience, with significant hands-on experience in Card Issuing.

- Strong understanding of the end-to-end Card Issuing lifecycle.

- Experience testing Card Management / Card Issuing platforms.

- Robust knowledge of card transaction processing.

- Good understanding of Authorization, Clearing and Settlement.

- Experience in Functional, Integration, Regression and End-to-End testing.

- Experience preparing test strategies, test plans, scenarios and test data.

- Strong analytical, troubleshooting and defect-management skills.

- Good communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Preferred Profile

Candidates with hands-on experience in Cards Issuing + Card Management + Authorization + Clearing & Settlement + Visa/Mastercard transaction processing will be strongly preferred.
