Teaching & Academics

- Plan and deliver Chemistry lessons aligned with the CBSE curriculum, NCERT guidelines and school academic plan.
- Build conceptual understanding, problem-solving, scientific reasoning and application-based learning.
- Use demonstrations, experiments and practical activities to connect theory with application.
- Prepare students for school assessments and CBSE Board Examinations.
- Provide remedial or enrichment support based on student needs.
- Maintain effective classroom management and high standards of learning and behaviour.

Assessment & Student Progress

- Prepare tests, worksheets, assignments, question papers and assessment material.
- Evaluate student work, provide constructive feedback and use assessment data to improve performance.
- Maintain accurate academic records, marks and report cards.
- Communicate student progress and concerns effectively during PTMs.

Laboratory & Safety

- Plan and supervise Chemistry practicals as prescribed by CBSE.
- Develop students' experimental, observation and data-analysis skills.
- Ensure safe handling of chemicals, equipment and laboratory resources.
- Coordinate with laboratory staff for practical preparation, stock and maintenance.

School Responsibilities

- Attend, conduct assemblies, staff meetings, departmental meetings and professional-development programmes.
- Perform examination, invigilation, evaluation and result-related duties.
- Participate in PTMs, school events, annual functions, exhibitions, competitions, trips and celebrations.
- Support House activities, clubs, Olympiads, Science exhibitions and STEM initiatives.
- Undertake substitution classes,



student supervision and class-teacher or mentoring responsibilities when assigned.
- Maintain lesson plans, registers and required school documentation.
- Support school initiatives and admissions-related academic interactions when required.
- Follow school policies on discipline, safeguarding, child protection and professional conduct.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues and contribute positively to the school community.

Preferred candidate profile

Essential

- Bachelor's / masters degree in chemistry or a relevant discipline.
- B.Ed. or recognised teaching qualification.
- Strong knowledge of Chemistry and the CBSE/NCERT curriculum.
- Effective classroom management, communication and student-engagement skills.
- Ability to conduct and supervise Chemistry practicals confidently.
- Comfortable using educational technology and digital teaching tools.
- Professional, organised, collaborative and student-focused.

Preferred

- Previous Chemistry teaching experience in a CBSE school.
- Experience teaching secondary and/or senior-secondary classes.
- Experience preparing students for CBSE Board Examinations.
- Familiarity with competency-based assessment and CBSE practical requirements.
- Experience with Olympiads, exhibitions, competitions or STEM initiatives.
